The apartment is located on the ground floor and the top floor of a building with a total of four apartments. It is situated in a quiet, tranquil setting on the outskirts of the small village of Trassenheide on Usedom. This charming little holiday complex was built around a historic mill in a beautiful, well-maintained garden.
Even during peak season, the area offers a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Those who prefer a livelier, more bustling atmosphere won’t find themselves here. The distance from the main road, as well as the adjacent nature reserve, ensure restful quiet and a good night’s sleep.
The apartment has its own parking space in front of the house. Guests arriving by train can reach the apartment from the train station on foot (30–40 minutes) or by taxi. However, a taxi must be booked in advance, as there are usually none waiting at the station.
Trassenheide is easily accessible via the Usedomer Bäderbahn trains. Two small train stations connect the town with other attractive destinations on the island and with the mainland.
The best way to get to the beach is on foot through the forest. The idyllic forest trail begins directly across from the entrance to Mühlenweg. From the apartment, this walk takes about 20–30 minutes, depending on your pace. The trail itself is very beautiful and relaxing.
It’s also possible to rent bicycles in town.
The apartment has three rooms. On the lower floor, there is an open-concept living-kitchen area with a balcony, as well as a bedroom with a double bed that is 180 cm wide. Here you’ll also find a spacious closet for clothes, etc.
In the attic, there is another living room/bedroom available. Here you can sleep on a pull-out couch, which is suitable for one person or for two who like to sleep close together. It is 140 cm wide.
This room also features a small TV with a built-in DVD player.
All rooms are heated with night storage heaters during the cold season. The on-site caretaker will bill you for the electricity used (based on metre readings upon arrival and departure). He will also explain how to operate the heaters.
In the kitchen, you can whip up delicious meals on an electric stove with a glass-ceramic cooktop and an oven. A dishwasher is available for your use, and there’s a small washing machine in the bathroom. Laundry can be dried on a drying rack.
The arrival day should ideally be Saturday. Exceptions are, of course, possible by arrangement.
Since I won’t be on-site myself, check-in and check-out will be handled by an on-site caretaker. He’ll also arrange the visitor’s passes for you and bill you for water and electricity based on the metre readings. You’ll receive the contact information after booking.
You can also order bed linens and towels separately from him. The cost for each is €10 per person. However, you’re welcome to bring your own.
