Clean cabin with all necessities. Bed and futon were comfortable. Didn't see a TV though that was listed, but we didn't need one and enjoyed watching the river instead. Great location, close to drive to Traverse City and lots of lakes and parks to enjoy away from the city. Very nice host, and we would definitely stay again!

Beautiful cabin

Very pretty spot. Cabin is cozy and met all our needs. It was easy to find and not a long drive from downtown Traverse City. Lots to do and see close by. Only thing missing was some chairs by the dock to sit and watch the water!

River love

Sister’s birthday, she wanted a little cabin by a river-it was perfect. Great location for exploring all of UP NORTH. Futon not very comfortable and I couldn’t open it but didn’t really need to. We didn’t cook but everything you need is there. Will definitely go again. Loved the book, too.

46th Wedding Anniversary

A perfect spot to spend a couple of quiet, restful days. Front window pane presented a beautiful view of River….only a dozen steps from cabin. Everything was neat and clean and ready for us when we arrived. A short drive to Traverse City and other spots to enjoy fine eating and other great scenery. A big thanks to our host for help making this a speacial time!

Cottage on the Boardman River

Our stay at the cottage on the Boardman River was relaxing. The river flows right outside the cottage, making its way toward Grand Traverse Bay. The cottage is nestled in a bucolic setting, which adds to the overall peacefulness of the setting. If you decide to stay, bring a good book or your fly fishing gear--either route you won't be disappointed.

Scattered Family

The sylvan setting was beautiful, serene and restful. The bed was comfortable, the shower had hot, soft water and the towels were thick and fluffy. The flatware was early hunting camp but more than adequate for my breakfast and dinner. Most of all, it was possible to touch all the family in need of consolation.

Awesome Cozy Cabin on the River

We were very pleased with the accommodations. Everything was clean and well represented in the listing. It was so nice to build a fire with the river only 15ft away and just sit and listen to it flow. We had a nice coal and gas grill available as well as a stove/oven and microwave to cook on/in so we didn’t spend a lot of money eating out! We would recommend this place to any couple who want a little private getaway for the weekend or even a week!! We will definitely go back and have reserved it for next year’s anniversary!!

Wonderful River Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay here and meeting Tricia. She was very friendly and helpful. The cabin came with all the amenities we needed. It's location along the river is beautiful. We were close enough to stores and restaurants to not be inconvenienced. Trips to the nearby lighthouses, state and national recreation areas could easily be made.

Nice stay!

Great communication, assisted us with unexpected early check in, friend watching property was just SUPER! Was everything we needed for the stay. Folks, this a cabin on the river, if cobwebs/bugs or a bit of a musty smell, etc is going to bother you, this may not be the place for you. It was very clean otherwise, bathroom linens fresh and well appointed for our stay. Only negative was there wasn’t much for privacy. Neighbor was blowing leaves most of a day, a lot of time right outside the window. There is a dock across the river that people were frequently fishing from, staring directly in bay window (blind is there but tied in a fashion we did not feel it was intended to be lowered) and of course random kayakers going by. Not a big deal for us, but could be important to others. I would 100% stay again!

Found some inner peace

I booked the Rivershire to have peace at the one year anniversary of my husband’s passing. I knew I needed to be near water and in the woods as that’s where we found our peace and joy when together. I could not have asked for a more perfect setting. Tricia even left flowers from her garden and a beautiful card outside my door when she found out the reason for my stay.I slept 9-10 hours each of the 4 nights! That’s not like me at all, I’m lucky to get 7 most nights. Tricia’s book is a must read as well. I couldn’t be happier with my stay.❤️☮️

A cozy time with nature

This little cottage on the Boardman River offers the comforts of home with a lovely view of the Boardman River and all the nature that surrounds it. The cottage is clean and well appointed. The owner, Tricia Frey, made us feel welcome and assured us that she would be available if we needed anything. As it turned out, we had all we needed to enjoy our stay.
