The most perfect location
The location in the heart of a small town, the beautiful outside area, the communication with the owner were all excellent. However, we were not prepared for such a tiny kitchen (what you see in the photo is all you get!), the upstairs bedroom has a downstairs bathroom (that is not clear in the listing) and there is only AC in the upstairs bedroom. Overall the villa seems a little small for 4 bedrooms, but we loved our stay and really enjoyed all the positives.

Wonderful Property
We had a wonderful stay, it was relaxing and absolutely stunning. The pool area is the biggest selling feature, with views of Mount Etna and many sitting areas. The house had everything you could need, although only one room has AC so it did get a little hot at night. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

Volcanic villa
The villa is everything and more than is shown in the promotional shots, you have to be there to appreciate how fantastic the garden, pool and views are. Mount Etna was erupting at times during our stay and that was amazing to see, it had unfortunately covered the town in ash before we got there but Carmelo the owner had done a great job of cleaning the pool so we could use it. One thing to mention is the church bells are very loud and go crazy at seemingly random times, so take your earplugs!

Very disappointed
The house was cute and clean but unfortunately didn’t meet our expectations. One of my most important requirements when booking our houses while on our trip to Italy was a/c and washing machine. We stayed in 4 total properties while traveling with our family and this was the only one that was a disappointment. We arrived around 10:00 pm on a Friday night and there wasn’t parking near the house. We had to park about two blocks away. When we got to the house and shown around the first thing I noticed was how hot inside the house was. There were 4 total bedrooms and only 1 of the 4 bedrooms had an air conditioner in it which only cooled the one room. There were fans in all of the other bedrooms but no air in the kitchen or living room. The house was an easy 80 degrees inside even at night. The first whole day we were there we left for a few hours and made sure the fans were on in hopes that it would keep the air circulating. When we got home later that day the fans had been turned off as well as the one small mini split in the one bedroom. Super frustrating to know that the home owners came in while we were gone and shut them off. I get that all lights should be turned off while we are gone, we treated every house we stayed in as we would our own home but it was very intrusive to know they came in and turned off the fans and small unit. We definitely would not recommend nor would we stay here again.

For our family, this was perfect
Our family included 5 adults and two boys 13 and 15. We all enjoyed the property for its charm, its variety of places to sit and talk, read, enjoy a meal, or take in the surroundings. We enjoyed the immediate neighborhood, including restaurants, a bakery across the street, and the nearby piazza. A / C only in the upstairs bedroom, but not a problem because at roughly 1,000 feet above sea level, evening temps (in late June) were comfortable and we were out all day! Carmelo the host is friendly and accommodating, the property and pool well- maintained. Our stay was a very good value. We would stay there again!

Great stay for the New Year
This was a fantastic home in a small town outside Catania city centre. A prefect place to watch the New Year fireworks (from the close by church) and have a NY dip in the pool!
Perfect location to get to Etna (35 min drive) and other close towns - Taormina, Syracuse, Noto, Catania. The house is in a small village with an excellent bakery across the main gate, great fresh fruit and fish shops, and fabulous restaurants - highly recommend San Anton.
Carmelo is a very nice host and helpful when we asked about local info.
Our family of 8 - 6 adults and 2 kids - had more than enough room.

Beautiful property-great location!
The Villa built in the 1700s gave us a realistic feel of Sicilian living. Literally 5 minute walk to the grocery store. Fantastic fresh fish restaurant across the street and many restaurants to choose from within walking distance. Fresh fruit and vegetable markets, bakeries and so many friendly Italians in the village.
Camelo and Alessandra live close by and respond quickly to questions or needs. We were sad to leave after 17 nights. We did have drivers to take us to the historical sites and to the sea. The description of the Villa is accurate!

Delightful property
We really enjoyed staying at the villa. The pool and gardens are wonderful and, as indicated in another review, the house interior is nicer than the photos suggest. Good location for exploring Mount Etna (Would highly recommend Etna Est tours), Siracusa, Taormina and more... Great local shops especially the bakery across the road and the fishmonger and vegetable shops. Good restaurants within walking distance. San Anton restaurant a particular highlight.

Authentic Sicilian Experience
Carmelo’s place is a dream! Elegant, rustic, authentic and comfortable for us. Trecastagni is such a charming village and getting to interact with the local community was a great pleasure. The community has everything you need. We were literally the only tourists in town. The community was so welcoming! Digustibus market, the bakery right at our door and the restaurants in town were all fantastic. The main town square is only a 650 foot walk. Carmelo arranged a wonderful transportation company that took us to the airport and to Catania. Catania and Taormina are a lovely drive away. We rented a car for 3 days and had no problem with parking (rent from Saitta Autonoleggi, they are excellent and next to it is a big market). Make sure to keep house keys with you at all times as the doors lock when you exit the house and property. We were tired the first night and locked ourselves out but Carmelo was available by simply pushing the intercom button outside the front gate.
I could go on about how much we loved the home forever. The pool is fabulous! We felt everything from the property to the home to Trecastagni was better than the pictures and what was described.

Great villa and pool near Etna
We had a fantastic stay at Carmelo’s house. The pool and outside space is fabulous with a great view of Mount Etna (just as good as the photos on the website). Our kids loved it. The house is spacious for a family of five and is clean and well equipped. Trecastagni is a great location. Plenty of good restaurants, food shops and an excellent traditional bar/cafe (Bar Sport - you can get great arancini, granita and ice cream there). Etna and Catania are close by, and Taormina and Siracusa also within easy reach. Carmelo was really helpful and responsive. Highly recommended!

Quirky villa in superb location
We enjoyed 2 weeks here in July. Firstly the location is awesome, right in the middle of the village, bakery opposite, restaurants, ice creams, coffee shops, banks all within walking distance near the base of mount etna. The house itself is secure with large iron gate, there is no parking, you have to park on the street, we always found parking within a couple of minutes walk to the house. There is a steep driveway but it’s only about 20 paces so easy to navigate. The house is very old and quirky, full of charm, dark inside to keep it cool. 3 bedroom downstairs could do with air con but was bearable with a fan. 4 bathrooms all on ground floor, 2 en-suite. 3 bathrooms are very small and the showers are tiny, 1m by 1m EU min standard. Shower heads need modernising, it was like using a hosepipe to shower with, my shower drain was partially blocked, I alerted the owner but nothing was done so in the end I brought a drain clearer and did it my self. Kitchen surprising small but equipped with all the basics, enough to reheat something, cook some pasta or prepare salads. There were no small mixing bowls, measuring jugs or spoons ( I had to buy one) or casserole dishes so you wouldn’t be able to properly cook anything. The villa garden is fantastic, beautiful pool, spotlessly clean with a lovely view of etna close to the church which rings bells during the day. 2 nice eating areas. We didn’t use the BBQ. We would definitely return to this villa again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Fantastic stay
We had a fantastic time a Carmelo's place. The property was pretty much as expected based on the photos, if anything the inside is nicer when you're actually there.
The garden and pool area are spectacular. Inside you're staying in a very old building which gives it character. Everything is perfectly comfortable and functional. The shower rooms are probably due some attention but still fine.
The location is excellent, right in the centre of town which plenty of shops and restaurants in easy reach. Recommendations of places to eat are provided and they are spot on, definitely worth visiting.
All communication with our hosts was simple and any minor issues were dealt with quickly.
Would definitely visit again.

Old house
Would not recommend Steep driveway to bring our luggage up. Had to ask twice to put heat on because it was cold and damp. Forgot the light on in the bathroom one night and they texted us to shut it off. Washing machine was not clean. Showers were tiny. Had to walk up and down the steep and slippery driveway because we went allowed to drive up. But they used it all the time. The only good thing was the 2 minute walk into town.

Fantastic Property
We had a truly great week at this lovely property - Carmelo and Alessandra made us very welcome, we very much enjoyed the brilliant pool with stunning views of mount Etna. Very private but still in the centre of Trecastagni. It was just the four of us, so plenty of space in a house that can comfortably accommodate more. We would love to come back.

Relaxing 2 week holiday at this beautiful villa. It is as reflected in the photographs with the pool area being truly beautiful. Plenty of areas for shade/ different seating arrangements. Bakery, butchers, fish market and supermarket are within a 5 minute walk if that. The bakery is directly opposite the villa. A number of restaurants are within a short walking distance of the villa along with a few cafes. Easy parking on the road outside. Bus stop to Catania is close to the large supermarket. Journey approximately 30 minutes at €4 for return ticket. For longer journeys eg. Siracusa/ Valley of the Temples/ Agrigento we found it easier to drive as bus and train journeys can otherwise take a while. Great views of the coast if you walk to the church seen in the photographs. The church bells chime regularly but that is part of being in Italy and they aren’t intrusive. Hosts very warm and welcoming and readily available if help/ advice is needed. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Highly recommended.

Lovely comfortable house with amazing views and friendly local area.
The listing pictures tell the truth.
Four good sized bedrooms with bathrooms, a spacious living room, compact but well equipped kitchen and multiple outdoor eating spaces and the pool terrace.
The landlords live at the other end of the garden so are on hand but not in the way.
Parking on the street is pretty easy and the grocery shops are very close along with a couple of good restaurants in the town.
Access to the autostrade - and thus the whole island - is about 20 minutes by car.
You will always know what time it is as the church bells strike the quarter hour.

A Garden to get lost in.
Even though the weather wasn’t kind to us on our first week we all managed to have a great time. The little bakery across the street was fabulous. You won’t go wrong with few restaurants on offer. We always had a good experience. The property is listed as having A/C but in fact it is only in the upstairs bedroom. Disappointed. It would be very hot in the summer months without it. Some of the bedding was a bit threadbare. The garden and pool in this property is without a doubt the biggest asset. So many lovely little place to sit and read. Lovely. The view of Mount Etna in the morning was fabulous. Carmelo and Alessandra were very helpful in organizing transport for us. There are no taxis here. Would we go back??

Oasis in Trecastagni
This home is truly an oasis. The photos look wonderful but the house and property are even better than what the photos show. We felt that we were staying at a mini-resort. Where else can you sit in a beautiful pool while church bells are ringing behind you while you are staring at Mount Etna pushing off some steam. Trecastagni is a great village with the large Piazza Marconi within walking distance that has great shops, restaurants and bars. There is a bakery directly across the street and a grocery store only a 3-minute walk away. We were only 30 minutes from Catania, under an hour from Taormina and less from 30 minutes to the base of your climb up Mount Etna. We would definitely return to this home on a return trip. The owners, Carmelo and Alessandra, were wonderful people. The only caution I will mention is that the house is advertised as air conditioned when in fact the only room air conditioned was the second-floor bedroom. There were two pedestal fans provided for the first floor.

Lovely hidden villa in a busy, remote country town with stunning gardens.
Plentiful rooms and bathrooms, adequate kitchen.
A very relaxing villa and grounds, with space to relax, swim and sunbathe.
A couple of nice bars, 4-5 restaurants within 10 minutes walk, no shopping as such.
Warm and helpful hosts who left us to ourselves but were available when we needed them.

Beautiful Villa with great views.
The house is old, beautiful and in great condition. The garden with the pool is well kept and beautiful. The view, as someone all ready wrote, is to die for. And the location, at least for us, perfect.
From the village you can find everything you need for cooking a great dinner and some great restaurants when you feel like eating out.
As a host Carmelo and Alessandra were very welcoming and friendly.
Thank you Carmelo and Alessandra, we all loved our stay.
