The property is well-positioned on Lake Como, with an easy walk to the Lenno boat ferry and a few restaurants. Getting around by ferry after around 7:30PM requires a bit more logistics. The property was huge and way more than our family of 4 needed. However, we enjoyed the privacy and ample space to move around. When first constructed, I’ll bet this villa was outstanding. Today, the furniture and decorating is a bit outdated. There’s a charm to that also - just not my particular vibe. As far as basic amenities, I’d have expected more from a place like this, especially at this price point. The toiletries and towels were just okay. But other basic things were not ideal. Many lights (inside and outside) didn’t work. It looked there was beautiful landscape lighting, but there was no way to turn them on. Same with the pool light. The front door lock didn’t work so we had to leave thru a side door and leave the entire place unlocked throughout our stay. No attempt was made to rectify this. The pictures showed a beautiful garage. This was not accessible to us. So we had to unload our bags from the car in the rain. The main power went out twice - always at night, of course. A/C only available in the bedrooms. The rest of the house was hot. Renters should be aware that the owner is projecting a 5 star experience at a premium price point. The villa property and location are 5 star but the attention to detail is a 4 at best.

Lake Como Week-Long Stay

We stayed at this gorgeous Vrbo villa with breathtaking views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. The spacious, three-floor home with floor to ceiling windows boasting views everywhere, was light and bright with private gardens and a swimming pool, comfortably accommodating our family of six adults. Its perfect location allowed us to walk to nearby amenities such as a boat rental site, water taxi, hiking trails, grocery store, wine store, restaurants, and patisseries. Our rental car made trips to other restaurants and Milan easy. Despite the wonderful aspects, we encountered some issues. The washing machine was inoperable due to a circuit breaker, forcing us to do laundry by hand. The host's instructions to locate and flip switches were unclear, suggesting they should be properly marked for future guests. More critically, there were no oven mitts or hot pads in the kitchen, resulting in my daughter burning her hand on a pot handle. This oversight led to a pot being dropped and a burn mark on the counter. This Vrbo needs to have oven mitts and hot pads. We attempted to contact the host, but she was unresponsive, removing communication options from the Vrbo site and not accepting phone calls. Instead, Vrbo informed us we would be charged for the counter damage. While these issues were disappointing, I hope the property owner addresses them, as to not penalize this lovely villa. Otherwise, the villa is a ten.
