Labor is expensive in Sweden, and to keep costs down the hotel has minimal staff. Check-in is automated. Great location close to the university and the cathedral (Domkyrka). Clean, fresh rooms -- simple, nothing fancy. Good value for the price.

Depending on what you need in an inexpensive place in the heart of the downtown, the two best things are 1) not paying for a private bath and plenty of super-clean communal bathrooms 2) excellent communal kitchen - also clean. Honorable mention: staff is friendly If you want to hang out in your hotel room, the room is very small....why would you want to do that?

Fantastic location and friendly front desk. Room was tidy and peaceful. Very convenient to have access to laundry facilities and option to leave bags to collect later after checkout.
