Went the extra mile

The hotel was beautiful and service terrific! At the last minute I had to change my plans and leave earlier because of air travel delays and the person at the desk got me immediately connected to a taxi company while the bellhop walked me to the taxi spot. I can’t say how appreciative I was for the quick service.

Nicely located hotel with good service levels. We were able to check-in earlier than planned (always useful if practicable) and all of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. There was a blip with some goods ordered for the room, but I think that may have been more the supplier's issue. However, that was disappointing given it was for a special birthday event.

The hotel was very nice but … when we checked in we were told that we needed to contact the concierge if we had issues with the air conditioning because we didn’t have control of it in the room. Considering there has been a serious heat wave, we figured there might be a need to conserve energy. But when we got to the room, it was stifling hot, despite the thermometer saying it was 18 Celsius. We called the concierge and he said he would make it cooler. It became slightly cooler. The next day, same thing. It was much cooler in the hallway and we told that to the concierge. Again, he said it looked fine on his end but would make it cooler. Again, it changed slightly. The third day, it was even more hot. We spoke to a different concierge who said they might be able to get a technician to look at it. When we checked in later that day, no one had looked at it yet. Finally, we went back to the concierge, and luckily this time spoke with Romane, who took us seriously and transferred us to a new room. It was a night and day difference and finally we were able to rest and sleep comfortably. I searched reviews about air conditioning and found a couple who mention that the a/c needed to be reset. I would highly recommend that someone check the rooms prior to new arrivals, especially in a heat wave. I would also highly recommend you empower the room cleaners to notice if a room is demonstrably warmer than all the others. I hope no one else is given room 225 until the a/c is fixed.

We loved our stay here. We came for a week Venice lagoon cruise with Uniworld and the property was a short walking distance to the San Basilio cruise terminal. We absolutely loved the communication from the hotel to us leading up to the trip to advise us on experiences they can coordinate like cooking classes or day trips to nearby islands and even scheduling personalized transfers from the airport to the hotel. The front staff was great to communicate with over email and were quick and responsive. It was great after a very, very long travel day with the family to be greeted by a friendly face who escorted us to a private water taxi waiting just for us by passing lines. Worth every penny. The front staff was lovely, rooms were great, the breakfast was vast and varied, and the hotel is located in a lovely and quiet district of Venice. Thank you for the hospitality! Wish we had more time.

Unbelievable staff and service from the moment we arrived. The communication pre arrival and during our stay was nothing short of amazing. The breakfast was fantastic and cocktails in the evening were top notch. We look forward to returning to this gem.
