My 2-day stay at the Amanzi was outstanding. My room was really spacious and included a couch, a comfortable chair and a desk. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff is so friendly in particular the front desk staff (especially the young Hispanic guy named Alex I think). The breakfast buffet is top notch. The young Hispanic guy overseeing the buffet is so gregarious and makes you feel like you are a guest in a home going way above and beyond what anyone would expect. Keep up the outstanding service. I always leave already thinking about my next stay.

We took a trip to universal in socal so we chose this hotel to break up our drive into two days. The staff was welcoming and even provided snacks that evening in the dining area. There was a breakfast included the next morning. The man that was serving food was very kind and made it his goal to insure we had everything we needed. The hotel was clean, safe and comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again. On a side note, that guy that was serving the food needs a raise! He's amazing! Thank you!

I've stayed here several times over the years and it's always great. It's super close to surfing spots, shopping, and great food. And the hot tub, after a long day of hiking, surfing, or walking the town is such a bonus. The beds are a little on the hard side, but some folks likely prefer that. Excellent free breakfast with tons of options.

We only stayed one night for an Eastern Star event at the Masonic lodge but we stayed here a couple of years ago and came back because we liked it. It’s close to the restaurants and shops and the lodge. We were on the seaside and you can hear the cars on the freeway, so you may want to make sure to be on the other side if that will bother you.

Decent by the beach, but problems

The place is located well, walkable to the beach and downtown. In general, it’s a decent place, having a damp carpet along the wall in the room was very strange and vaguely unhealthy. I kept wondering if there might be mold. The WiFi also was at best sketchy. I asked at the front desk and the guy said, yeah, the WiFi is spotty and I’d need to talk to the manager if I wanted to pursue it. I was there for one night, so I left it. Not particularly acceptable for a hotel now.

The parking is easy access and free, check-in easy. You have to know where to turn off Chestnut or you may put yourself back on 101 fwy southbound. The facility offers cocktails and munchies after 4pm, which is nice, but the night I checked in there was a party like gathering so no where to sit and they took over whole seating area and continued to stay till after 11pm. I know as I stayed all the way down the hall facing the driveway and I could still hear them thru my door. So rooms are not sound proof! I should have requested to move as they were so loud they echoed down the hall. They floors are likely laminate so the area in lobby echo's. I had to turn up volume on t.v., nice t.v., just to hear movie. The rooms have mini refrigerator and micro along with k coffee, nice! Overall, I would stay again but ask for upper floors. They have a nice breakfast buffet, so I really love this! This hotel use to be Country Inn in Ventura, The update is good, but coziness is gone.. Anyway, I highly recommend for families and couples that want to be close to Ocean and Downtown Ventura. Still a great place to be!!

Fine. Weird. Loud.

The room was fine. The bed was comfortable, there was a weird half a couch. But: I foolishly paid a little extra for the "balcony." The balcony was as deep as the chairs, and sealed with windows, which opened, but we kept closed because the hotel is along the freeway, and just beyond the freeway was a train bridge (I'm sure there's a term). Loud! Oh and the bridge and the freeway on-ramp block the view of the beach and ocean. Sigh. PS: The bathroom was 99% clean. Except for the mildew on the corner of the shower.
