Even though Ver-sur-Mer's not exactly known as Calvados' accommodation hot spot, it does feature the Ferme de la Rançonnière ou Manoir de Mathan, which is relatively close to the city centre.

The Chateau De Sully is 15 kilometres from the centre of Ver-sur-Mer. Alternatively, the Hotel de Normandie can be found 7 kilometres away. Two other places to stay include the Le Clos des Courtines and the King Hôtel.

The greater Normandy area is worth visiting as well. Explore the ruins in Normandy. Nature lovers should also make the time to enjoy its rural landscapes, beaches and coastal plains. Or join the locals rock climbing while you are here.

Booked this place as a backup, just in case I couldn't make it to the ferry in time. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help bridge the language barrier. (I don't know much French, they didn't know much English). Once everything was understood, my friend and I took the keys are were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms. Coffee making facilities, air conditioning and a king size bed. There are a number of eateries and even a cinema just around the corner from the hotel and it's only a couple of minutes walk from the train station. For a last minute stay, there was nothing more I could have asked for.
