The staff was amazing especially Evelina who was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a great location, convenient to the train, shopping and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Not fancy, but clean, and great service and staff.

Hotel is nice enough, great breakfast and customer service at front desk is WONDERFUL. Room did not have a bathroom attached and was not told this when booking....it was in the hall. When checking in was offered room with an attached bathroom for another 50eu per night. Wish I had known this in advance/upon booking. I wouldn't stay at a hotel w/o an attached bathroom so I paid more but should have been told this in advance and NOT at check in when you have no other options to cancel etc. Turned on the AC and lots of dust and dirt flew out of the unit onto the floor and our suitcase, so those need to be vacuumed out. The overall room was very small, but clean other than the AC issue. Need more room for suitcases/shelves etc. The hotel is not 5 star but still met our needs for breakfast, bed, and the staff were VERY NICE. We would stay again now that we know what we are getting. It's not fancy, but meets your needs.

This was a great place to stay with its ambience and both accessible and convenient location. Just a short walk to the village of Vernazza and harbor. And situated right between the hiking trails to either Corniglia or Manarosa. Also close to a laundromat. At the front desk, Evelyn was the most hospitable and helpful hostess that we have ever had. She went more than the extra mile to ensure that we had a lovely time not only in Vernazza but in the all of Cinque Terre. She was very warm and personable. We will be back!

A Vernazza gem

After our long trek into town from Monterosso, exhausted and looking for a nice stay, we were greeted warmly and efficiently by Eveline. She showed us around the hotel, perfectly located in the adorable town of Vernazza and even made a reservation for dinner for us which was ideal! The hotel lobby, dining area, and rooms are clean and have everything you need. The breakfast was very good as well, I highly recommend the Pensione Sorriso!

The property is very nice. Breakfast was included and was delicious and fresh. The staff is the highlight of this stay. Eveline was personable and fun! The entire staff were friendly and sweet and very welcoming. This hotel was very close to the train, shopping , and great restaurants.

I accidentally booked a room without a bathroom, but since the hotel wasn’t fully booked, they kindly upgraded me to a room with a private bathroom at no extra cost—without me even asking. The woman who checked me in was incredibly kind and gave me a full tour of the property, which was a nice touch. The hotel itself was beautiful, well-kept, and very clean. My room was also spotless and nicely maintained. I was surprised to see this hotel rated as a two-star—I would definitely consider it worthy of three stars. They do offer luggage storage, but it’s in a public area, so there is a possibility that someone could access or go through your bags. However, I had no issues retrieving mine. The breakfast was excellent—one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had, with plenty of options. The location is also very convenient, close to the train station, making it easy to get to without any trouble.

Our first time in Vernazza and we happen to find a pearl in the middle of a sea of hotels! The Pensione Sorriso, Eleena and staff were wonderful! There was such great and positive energy about the place. We were planning on staying only 1 day and decided stay for three days! The room was clean and comfortable. The area was right in the center of beautiful Vernazza and close to train station that made it easy to explore all of Cinque Terre! We would love to be back !!!

We were so happy with Pensione Sorriso! We were greeted on our arrival, given lots of information about the hotel, and shown our room. The staff member was excellent. I believe her name was Elenora? She was so incredible and helpful Friday & Saturday. We saw her working so hard for every guest to make sure they were happy and had everything they needed. We were so impressed by her. We will come back here for future vacations.

Amenities were good. Great breakfast. Noisy next to train track but we knew about the location. One star because during check in, the staff tried to trick us into paying extra 25euro to upgrade to a different room in order to get 2 bath towels, even though we booked a room for 2 adults. We ended up getting 2 towels anyways but it was very dishonest of them to say we had to upgrade in order to get two towels we should have gotten instead of one.
