Exceptional Host and great property
I want to first list all of the pros of staying at this property, because there are so many:
- Huge home that provides a rustic feel of Italy and you can feel the love and attention they have as a family
- Exceptional host who provided constant contact and even cooked an amazing traditional meal for our family. She also brought us croissants and brioche for our arrival and departure. So sweet.
- Fun board games and fantastic pool that the family enjoyed
- Amazing view of the Bay of Naples and hills of Vico Equense
- Onsite Driver - Francesco (Sorrento Cab) was amazing - he knew everyone and had so much knowledge to share. He made our trip fun and memorable and even helped us to get our covid tests to re-enter the U.S.
- Easy access to a few local restaurants and small local market
- Train station only a 7 minute walk but no one to sell tickets - you have to ride at your own risk
The cons of staying here:
- Our hot water was sporadic and Donatella did her very best to get it working but 6 people with daily showers meant someone would have cold water and for a few days we all had cold showers
- There is no AC in this home. There are appropriate fans for each of the rooms and you can open the windows, but the light breeze will bang the bang the glass doors and lets in the mosquitos
- There were ants in a few of the rooms and downstairs bathroom - very normal given the location of this villa but you hope it doesn't happen to you
- While there were local eateries nearby and Sorrento only 3 miles away - the walk is not for the weary. The hills are steep and the 3 mile drive to Sorrento takes about 25 minutes
- Not a lot happening in Vico Equense but the views are amazing and if you want peace and quiet you will get it here
Overall, it was a great experience in this home and was a peaceful rest after visiting Florence for two-weeks! I would recommend it.
