Lovely house but in a busy location
The house was lovely but our enjoyment of the house, pool and garden was marred by traffic noise from a busy road some 3 metres away from the house and garden. The house was quieter at night but still some traffic noise in the early morning.

A true delight!
This lovely stone house has it all - wonderful host, great location, excellent indoor and outdoor living spaces, well appointed and properly equipped. Having traveled extensively throughout Europe, and having stayed in dozens of rental properties, we consider this to be one of our favourites. We very much enjoyed relaxing here for a week, easily dividing our time between the cool indoors and the pretty terrace and pool. There are plenty of nearby sights and, given its proximity to Sarlat, shopping was a breeze. The delightful owner met us promptly at the pre-arranged time and gave us a quick tour and all of the information we needed to get settled, but remained within easy contact for any questions that arose. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We will definitely return when next in the area. Thank you Morgane for a fabulous stay!

Beautiful house and a perfect base to explore.
This house really is a great place. It has wonderful gardens, a great pool, a hot tub in a cave which was great for cooling off. The air conditioning makes it very cool internally and the beds were mega comfortable. The hosts are very nice people and gave us some excellent advice on where to visit. We visited the beautiful walled village of Domme, Sarlat which is wonderful for shopping and dinner with fantastic architecture on show. We canoed down the Dordogne taking in the great sights and castles in the different towns. In the evening when we wanted a few drinks to accompany a great meal we walked a 100 metres to the pub/ restaurant La Centenaire where Johan and his team offer great food and a great welcome ( recommend to book a reservation). The Boulangerie in the little hamlet of Montfort is a 3 minute walk and was great for all your breakfast goods and bread etc.
This is a great home in a lovely hamlet at the the foot of a castle with great views and links to some of the best villages and towns in France and we will definitely return.

Exceptional location and house that has it all!
I'm so very pleased we selected this comfortable house for our holiday in the Dordogne.
Whilst it was boiling hot in France during our holiday, we knew we could always retreat to this fabulous air conditioned home, plus use the cave/jacuzzi and heated pool to cool down.
The kitchen is well provisioned for cooking at home which we did a fair amount of with the children. Beds are comfortable and there's lots of indoor and outdoor space to relax, together or apart.
It's so close to Sarlat for amenities (more than I'd realised!, within easy reach of the famous villages of the Dordogne (Beynac, Castelnaud, La Roque-Gageac) plus places like Rocamadour, and has a stunning location in Montfort, with spectacular views overlooking the castle.
Carsac has a great little Spar for odds and ends, as well as a good cycle hire shop, and the Pirates of Perigord pizza/crazy golf/bar which was a good stop for the family.
The best cycle hire (and a more interesting route) can be found at Castelnaud La Chapelle (Bike Bus), plus you have a great castle to visit, nice restaurants (La Plage is good), and there's a bakery and canoe hire there (although we preferred Canoes Loisirs at Vitrac).
If you're after a good coffee, stop at Cafe Layac on the road to Cenac.
Morgane is a fabulous host, who always replied quickly, and made things really easy for us with a great welcome and check-out and has put a great deal of thought and care into the home.

Perfect Property in Great Location
The property was perfect for our needs and let us enjoy a great week in Beautiful Dordogne. It was clean with a well equipped kitchen, a spacious dining and lounge area with 3 reasonably sized bedrooms and the two shower/bathrooms were ideal.
The pool and garden were a great place to relax and enjoy the hot and sunny weather we experienced with great views of the Castle and surrounding scenery.
Communication with Morgane was excellent who replied promptly to any messages, allowed us to drop our bags off early and accommodated our early check-out as we had an early morning flight.
We found the location great for day trips to Sarlat, Domme, La Roque-Gageac and close to river Dordogne and Carsac.
In the small village of Montfort we found Le Centenarie a great place to enjoy some local food and wine and with the patisserie a short walk away for morning pastries and Baguettes.
Recommended.

Highly Recommend
A beautifully furnished and decorated house, well equipped. Hot tub very welcome in the early autumn days of October-not quite warm enough for the pool! Also recommend local hotel for lunch Pech de Malet and the local boulangerie sold beautiful baguette and croissants (closed Thursday). The lovely young lady in the boulangerie was very friendly and enjoyed our attempts at ordering in French. Sadly the local restaurants were closed for the season but had some lovely meals in Sarlat (sorry can`t remember names) Great green salds with walnuts and good duck dishes as well as the best froie gras..not good for the diet but who cares..on hols!
Owners Thierry and Morgane are charming and although we aarived 2 hours earlier than expected there was no problem, we were greeted and shown around the property.

Beautiful barn conversion with a picturesque view
Thank you so much for a wonderful week in your charming property. From the great communication beforehand and extremely warm welcome on arrival, including several local treats for us to try, we knew we were going to have a great time.
The house itself is beautiful. The original barn has been lovingly renovated to retain its original features, but making it a luxurious holiday home with lots of little details carefully thought out. The downstairs, being open plan, feels very light and spacious, with a fully -stocked kitchen for all of your catering needs.
Upstairs, the three bedrooms all have great storage with built-in wardrobes, and some of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! Paired with the electric shutters throughout the house, we were very well rested by the end of the week.
But our most favourite place to be was most definitely the garden. This is so beautifully landscaped to create a haven on four levels. The first is a large patio area with a table and chairs at the bottom from which we enjoyed our breakfast. The second is the pool area, crafted around the rocks, with a decking area to sit beside the pool. The children loved the pool, perfect to cool off in on a hot afternoon after sightseeing in the morning.
Then there is a pretty planted garden area with sun loungers to relax in and admire the view.
Finally, the piece de resistance, is the terrace at the top of the garden, under the cave roof, with a large seating and barbecue area from which there is the most stunning view of the castle and the surrounding countryside. We spent our evenings cooking, eating and relaxing here-just perfect.
Hidden behind the seating area is a natural cave with a heated whirlpool. We all enjoyed this very much-a real treat!
The house is in a great part of the Dordogne-so much to see and do around. Our particular highlights were visiting the towns and villages of La Roque-Gageac, Domme and Sarlat with its many delicious restaurants and fun evening entertainment, canoeing from Vitrac to Beynac and visiting the traditional market at St. Cyprien on a Sunday morning.
The hosts Morgane and Thierry were so lovely-very friendly and welcoming as well as being extremely helpful. We would love to return in the future and would highly recommend to anyone considering a relaxing break in the beautiful Dordogne. Thank you!

Relax and take in the view...
This is a charming place to stay, we loved all the different areas to sit and the cave is a lovely place to have dinner. The location is ideal; the river is a short walk away, there is a bakery a 5 minute walk away and several restaurants over the road. The owners were charming and met us there to make sure we settled in OK. It's a beautiful setting to enjoy the area.

Super location with magnificent views
We absolutely thoroughly enjoyed our stay which started with a warm welcome from Morgane and Thierry together with a lovely treat in the fridge. The property was clean and the garden with pool was just perfect for us. Would highly recommend choosing this property for a holiday as everything you would need and many historical places to visit are either within walking distance, cycling distance or driving. Together with the best market at St Cyprien held on a Sunday (thanks for the tip Thierry).

A charming house in a beautiful area
I recently stayed at this house with my dayghter and her family. It had everyting you needed to make your stay relaxed including a swimming pool which my Grandchildren loved and a hot tub. The house is set in a beautiful area with a Castle on your doorstep. There are a couple of restaurants close by but recommend you book in advance during the peak holiday period as Montfort attracts a lot of visitors. Morganne and Thierry the owners of the property were on hand as and when required and very helpful. We would definitely come back again

Fijn verblijf
