Schwed Vacation Home – family-friendly, dog-friendly, right in the heart of Hooksiel
The Schwed Vacation Home is a lovingly furnished semi-detached house in a quiet, yet centrally located residential neighborhood in the North Sea town of Hooksiel—ideal for families, couples, or guests with dogs who want to spend a relaxing vacation on the coast.
On the first floor, you’ll find a fully equipped, open-concept kitchen that opens directly onto the cozy living and dining area with a fireplace. From here, you can step out onto the patio and into the small garden—perfect for relaxing outdoors. Also on the first floor is a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine.
A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor. Here you’ll find two additional bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two single beds—the latter is especially family-friendly and equipped with toys for young guests. A second bathroom with a bathtub rounds out the amenities on this floor.
There’s a convenient storage area for bicycles you bring along—and dogs are also warmly welcome at Haus Schwed.

Hooksiel’s charming town center invites you to stroll through its picturesque pedestrian zone, with shopping and restaurants, while a large EDEKA supermarket with a bakery at the town entrance offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The beach, about 3 km away, is equipped with parking and beach chairs, and water skiing at the Hooksiel ski terraces provides plenty of action, while beautiful hiking and biking trails lead from the old harbor to the outer harbor and the beach.

The climatic health resort of Hooksiel (Zone 1) is subject to a visitor’s tax. Therefore, a visitor’s tax must be paid on site. This tax is based on the number of people, age, and length of stay. Information on the high and low seasons and the corresponding rates can be found on the Wangerland Touristik website.
The following are exempt from the visitor’s tax:
a) Children up to and including age 3.
b) Severely disabled persons whose “degree of disability” (formerly: reduced earning capacity) is 100% according to an official ID card.
c) Severely disabled persons who, according to their official ID card, are completely dependent on constant assistance (marked with a “B” on the ID card). This means: regardless of the degree of disability (e.g., GdB 80% and “B” designation).
d) Companions of severely disabled persons who, according to their official ID card, are completely dependent on constant assistance.
