A+ Hotel in Great Neighborhood

We were in DC for opera and museums. The location of the AKA is perfect for Metro transportation and great restaurants. Suite at the hotel was lovely, clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Sergio(?) at the desk and bartender Alex. We certainly would return to the AKA White House.

We really enjoyed our stay at AKA Whitehouse. They were super responsive to my messages. I ordered some grocery delivery prior to our arrival, the staff were so kind to put everything away including the ones that need to be in the refrigerator. Front desk person Sergio was so friendly and helpful when we got there. Overall, front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clear about no housekeeping for stays less than 7 days and were upfront with all the charges.

Beautiful property, very friendly employees. We really enjoyed our stay. It was in a great location which made getting to popular tourist spots easy. Our only complaint would be that the beds were really firm for our liking.

Although at first glance the hotel seems upscale, but the features are not and the room was not as clean as they advertise. The Livingroom blinds would not close. The washer was off balance and did not work properly. The beds and pillows were VERY uncomfortable. Parking is extremely expensive, so we ended up parking at a garage a mile away. Very inconvenient. No coffee was provided for the morning. I would not stay again.

Originally I had high hopes for our 4 night stay at this hotel. However, the first night I found that the TV in the master bedroom did not work. I complained; a staff member tried to correct this to no avail. The next day, after a promise to fix this, nothing was done by the evening of our return. I complained again, and another staff member came up to fix this, leaving me three (3) separate remotes to work with. Nothing worked. On day 3 I was asked about the status and told the staff that the TV still did not work; they wanted me to spend more time showing them the problem. By then (Day 3) I was exasperated with this situation. Finally, at check out on Friday morning, May 23rd, I complained and asked for compensation for my trouble. Per the request of staff member "Steven", I gave him my contact information (phone and email), and Steven promised me that I would get a response that day, May 23rd. There has been no response.
