Our innkeeper, Phil Jenkins, made our stay outstanding. He was charming, helpful, interesting (with a wicked sense of humor) and made us feel totally at home in his beautifully decorated 1800's house. We felt like members of the family.
The rooms are all furnished in a "natural" and woodsy theme. Our room was a soft palate of grays and soothing tans. We even had a choice of pillow firmness. The breakfast area looked out onto a lovely garden area. The flowers in front were a riot of color.
We had yummy hors d'oeuvres on Friday night. I had called Phil previous to our arrival to ask if a friend could join us as we all were in town for a wedding. He was most accommodating and welcoming. Our friend joined us for Saturday breakfast as well. Thank you, Phil.
Saturday breakfast featured an egg souffle that was delicious. Sunday's breakfast specialty was stuffed french toast. Both were plated beautifully which added to the enjoyment of the food.
Our stay at the Deer Brook Inn was 10+, and we would love to come again.
