Lovely place. Very comfortable bed and kind staff. Shower struggled a bit with water pressure in my room but it was fine and normal for old coaching inns in my experience. Breakfast was good.

We checked in late evening, staff were friendly. Atmosphere was quiet in the bar area, locals were friendly, drinks reasonably priced. Room was clean and spacious, bathroom was modern, there are no lifts and lots of stairs, so no go if you have mobility issues. Breakfast was nice, the only gripe I have is that the bar and rooms looked dated, but I would stay again.

Right, from the offset this is a "local" to the community and you will encounter not only the locals but their dogs and on the night of our stay it was busy, really busy which is generally a good sign wherever you travel. Warm welcome, excellent room with a first class breakfast. The only disappointment was that dinner that evening was served in the bar area (dining room closed) and it was simply too busy but the bar prices compensated somewhat for that and we were fortunate enough to get a table in the Italian restaurant behind the pub. If ever back in Wooler I would not hesitate to spend another evening in the Bull.

Staff were so welcoming. Bed was comfortable and smelt really fresh. Shower really powerful. Breakfast is lovely they could just be better not bringing hot food out while you’re still eating cereal. Would highly recommend The Black bull and great location for getting around Northumberland. Car park always spaces too.

Loved our long weekend at the Black Bull. Very busy pub, but as we were on the second floor no noise issues. Smashing Sunday lunch and all the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lady behind the bar who checked us in. Only issue was no lift and the stairs are quite steep, so definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Would not hesitate to recommend and will stay again.

Stayed here previously. Quiet room, comfy bed. Had our evening meal here, both had steak pie, very tasty and a bottle of red wine. Two bottles of water in room, plenty tea and coffee and one pack biscuits. We has booked breakfast the following morning, you pre-order the items the night before. We had a fruit yogurt and an actimel drink, orange juice. Tasty breakfast. We had toast and jam afterwards. Only downside was the filter coffee wasn't very strong.
