Staff did what they could to make the stay better, but we had to move rooms (to a smaller one) to get away from the first. Very noisy aircon, single glazed windows, barely any hot water from the shower, flickering lights, etc., though staff were pleasant and helpful.

We didnt have breakfast. Restaurant was closed for private event but we were not told in advance. Despite messaging we were not able to get an electric charge port. Team very friendly hhough, reception staff were lively. Very clean and comfy.

Hotel was a great location, clean and warm and all the staff bar our initial welcome by a receptionist was first class ( we did not see that receptionist again - cold, abrupt and not bothered) but everyone else was amazing. The peacock bar was lovely and a nice twist on major cocktails with a Yorkshire twist and the breakfast was so nice, great staff and freshly cooked food nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Room ok staff ok but slow to serve at bar area and restaurant as always seem to go missing staff with long her should have it tied back or up for h/s reasons were food being served chef needs to learn how to cook a steak properly as mine was charcoaled and breakfast poached eggs done in to much vinegar meal menu needs updating and staff need to learn how to set cutlery for meal as handling steak knife by blade and giving it to customer not very professional or hygienic other than that had a pleasant stay

Hotel was ok. However on checking out was charged £54 (£18/day) for parking. As i was only there overnight I could have parked o the street for nothing. Nothing was said at checkin or on my booking.Really made me angry all day. will never stay there again

We stayed for our anniversary and the staff made a great effort to make our room look nice. The hotel was lovely and our room was very spacious and clean. Free parking just a 5 min walk away and only a 15 walk from York centre

Lovely hotel, great reception and room service staff. Friendly and very helpful. We had a king size courtyard room which was clean and had a fridge and kettle. Bed was comfortable and shower worked well. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Parking available at hotel but limited or car park at the Mount School which always had spaces. The walk into York took about 25 minutes. Only small criticism was the bar ran out of drinks including sauvignon white wine. Other than that would definitely come and stay again.

Elmbank was a lovely hotel but there were a couple of things which made us feel we did not get good value for money. The information we received prior to arrival was out of date. As an example it advised us to ring on the day of arrival to book parking which we were advised was not possible. Parking is purely first come first served. The toilet was not clean around the seat fixings. There was a plaster from previous guests in the bin! There was no hot water for one of us the have a decent shower one morning!

Staff were friendly, Room was nicish, but got put in the lodge across the road, and was put out in the cold rain on check in, then taps had no hot water, tried to go for drinks in bar but was small and full.
