Disappointingly poorly maintained but clean
Location:Reasonably close to train station (more than a walk). Good tram lines easy walking distance. Excellent Indian restaurant downstairs!
The lack of on-site reception or a contact have meant that the apartments suffer from a lack of instant feedback. Thus our room, whilst amazingly clean and well laid out had a number of glaring problems that had been let slide and whilst the room looked good, it functioned poorly.
Firstly, I had initially booked for only one night but realised within a few hours that we would need to stay two. I booked and paid and sent an email requesting we could stay in the same room as we could not check out and in again. I did not receive a email back before we started the holiday and couldn't ask anyone at the actual apartments, so I began a hurried email dialogue. Stressful.
Secondly, lack of maintenance meant that we could not use the power outlets in one room, the window shades (electric) did not shut so there was city light all night, the oven had no cooking pans so was basically useless (no microwave either), there was an ironing board but no iron, the in room safe was not working. Finally on our last day there was no hot water at all, so the lovely shower was basically useless. (it's Zurich. It's cold).
