Comfort Chalet 4p - Two Bedroom Chalet, Sleeps 4

Ferienpark Arber is located in Zwiesel, often called the "Glasstadt", a town in the Bavarian Forest known for its glassmaking tradition and natural surroundings. Zwiesel lies at the confluence of the Großer and Kleiner Regen rivers. Thanks to its clean air, the region is recognised as a climatic health resort, so it's a good place to relax and recharge.About the Bavarian Forest
Ferienpark Arber sits in the Bavarian Forest, an expanse of ancient mountain woodland along the border between Germany and the Czech Republic. The region is often described as the largest continuous forest in central Europe. It stretches along the eastern bank of the Danube, from Passau towards the Upper Palatinate.
It is also home to Germany's first national park, the Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald, which has visitor centres at Lusen and Falkenstein. The Naturpark Bayerischer Wald surrounds it, with an information centre in Zwiesel.
The area is a natural fit for anyone who loves being outdoors. Hiking trails wind through wooded hills and farmland, and mountain bikers will find plenty of routes. For a slower day, many local towns have a small museum. They tell the story of the region's mining and glassmaking past, and of how people have lived with the landscape.About Zwiesel
There is no lack of things to see around Zwiesel. One of the most popular attractions is the Riesloch Falls, a natural monument with impressive waterfalls in a fantastic landscape. A hike through the Riesloch Gorge, which includes the Lower Riesloch Falls, is considered one of the most interesting tours in the Bavarian Forest. The stony trails make it a scenic but challenging walk, so sturdy shoes are important.
Another must-see is the summit of the Großer Arber, the highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest at approx. 1,456 m. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic 360-degree views over the region. Whether you are looking for waterfalls, summits or viewpoints, the area has something for every hiker, from challenging trails to relaxed walks.Straight to the slopes
In winter, the ski resort is only a short distance from both Zwiesel and Ferienpark Arber. You don't need a car or a parking spot at the lift. A local bus takes skiers and vacationers directly to the ski resort from Zwiesel, so you can get to the slopes without any hassle.Great public transport connections
Having a car is handy, but you won't need one. Zwiesel is the hub of the Waldbahn rail network, with regular trains to Plattling, Bayerisch Eisenstein, Bodenmais and Grafenau. Local buses take you on to trailheads and attractions across the region. That makes day trips simple and stress-free, with no parking to find and no driving after a long day on the trails.

The Comfort Chalet 4p is a 3-room chalet for 4 persons, approximately 50 m² in size. It is an ideal accommodation for a couple or a small family spending their holiday in the Bavarian Forest.
You enter the chalet via the terrace. The living room has a cosy Bavarian-style seating area and an HD LCD flat-screen TV. The open-plan kitchen has a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, Senseo Switch 3-in-1 coffee machine and a gas hob with 4 burners. A complete set of kitchen utensils and cleaning products for everyday use is provided.
You'll have two separate bedrooms, each with a double bed. The bathroom has a washbasin, shower and toilet. From the living room, an open staircase leads to a small play loft above the bedrooms. It also works well as extra storage space for suitcases.
Outside, the spacious terrace is nicely sheltered, so you can start the day outdoors or enjoy the last rays of the evening sun.
Bed linen can be booked in advance. Towels are not provided, so please bring your own. Additional costs such as final cleaning, the service fee and the tourist tax are payable on site.

There is one parking space directly in front of each chalet

Ferienpark Arber lies in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. The region is part of Europe's largest continuous forest area, and it includes Germany's oldest national park. Since 1970, nature has been left to develop largely undisturbed. Dense woodland, rolling hills and open meadows make up a landscape with something to offer in every season, whether you come in summer or winter. The Großer Arber, nicknamed the "King of the Bavarian Forest", is the region's highest mountain at 1,456 metres. From the top, hikers get far-reaching views over valleys, mountains, towns and villages. An active holiday at Ferienpark Arber is a chance to discover the forest's plants and animals, and to see how they change with the seasons.Hiking and cycling
The Bavarian Forest National Park is right on our doorstep, and it is a paradise for active holidaymakers. More than 320 km of well-marked hiking trails offer something for every fitness level, from a leisurely stroll through the rolling landscape to a demanding mountain hike. Cyclists and mountain bikers will also find plenty of routes, from gentle to challenging.Winter sports
In winter, the Großer Arber is the place to be. Its ski area offers roughly 12 km of slopes across an elevation difference of 406 metres, and the Arber-Kinderland looks after the youngest guests. The slopes reach up to 1,450 m. A free bus takes skiers straight to the lifts, so you don't need a car or a parking spot.
Prefer a slower pace? Cross-country skiers can head straight onto the trails from the holiday park. If you'd rather skip the skis, try sledding or snowshoeing, or end the day with a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snowy landscape. The town of Zwiesel, the Glass City
You should definitely not miss out on Zwiesel itself. It has been an air spa resort (Luftkurort) since 1972 and is well known for its glass heritage. You can watch glass-blowers at work in the local studios, join a brewery tour, or admire the world's largest glass pyramid, made of 93,655 wine glasses. The tower of the St. Nikolaus church, at 86 m, is also hard to miss.
The town lies on the Glass Road and is known far beyond Germany for its high-quality glassmaking. Along with many glass producers and shops, it even has its own Glass Queen. Newer industries have arrived over the years, but glass and wood are still part of the region's identity.
Zwiesel keeps this tradition alive. Events throughout the year celebrate the craft, including the Zwiesel Glass Days and the Kölbl festival. Glass Night, held every year in the town centre, draws visitors from near and far, and the whole town celebrates under its motto: "Fine glass, good wood are Zwiesel's pride." Along the way you'll find renowned glassblowers, art exhibitions and museums.
There is more to see beyond glass. You can visit the local brewery, explore the historic underground tunnels, climb the 86-metre tower of St. Nicholas Church (known as the "Cathedral of the Bavarian Forest") and see a giant glass pyramid built by Zwiesel Kristallglas AG from more than 93,000 wine glasses.
The town centre is easy to explore on foot, by bike or by city bus. In the evening, restaurants and bars serve authentic Bavarian dishes. Zwiesel is lively throughout the year. The Grenzlandfest, a week-long folk festival, takes place every year from the second Saturday in July. From August to September, the Zwieseler Buntspecht shows regional art. Every second year in late summer, the Zwieseler Glastage present what is described as "Europe's largest glass art showcase" and end with the Glasnacht. In November, the Volksmusikwettbewerb (folk music competition) completes the calendar.Museums in and near Zwiesel
- Waldmuseum Zwiesel is at Kirchplatz 3, in a former girls' school. It has about 8,000 exhibits on forest, wood, glass and local history, with dioramas and a historical pharmacy.
- Glasmuseum Theresienthal is in a former manor of the Poschinger family. It shows crystal glassware made at the Theresienthal manufactory between 1800 and 1930.
- Dampfbier-Museum is run by the Pfeffer family's 1. Dampfbierbrauerei Zwiesel and covers brewing history and tradition.

- Localbahnmuseum, Bayerisch Eisenstein sits at the border train station and has over 20 historic vehicles. The steam train between Zwiesel and Bayerisch Eisenstein runs only in early August, so it's not a year-round option.
