Overall, if you are on a budget this is a great option. It’s a nice place with pools and close to the beach. The lack of bar options without a VIP pass limits where you can get drinks and because of that the lines are very long when you do want to get a drink. Same goes for the restaurants. If you are looking to get a la cart service you will need to upgrade your option to have access to all restaurants on the premises. Lastly, the entertainment was decent but very low budget compared to resorts I have tracked to in the past. Good for families…not for couples retreats

I was really looking forward to my trip at the Bahia Principe Grand Coba. It was my first time out the country and first time in Mexico. I saw while booking that they had properties in other countries i wanted to visit so I thought it was a prefect fit. When I arrived things were a little different. The staff was very friendly. When I checked in the initial room they gave me which was super close to the main building, the room smelled like mold. I tried to shower after a long day of travelling and noticed black mold on the ceiling in the shower. I went to the front desk and asked to change my room which they did but it was on the other side of the resort, and to my dismay this room also smelled like mold but not as bad and was a damp feeling. The food and drinks were great, some of the restaurants were closed which was sad because as a chef those are the reasons i picked the resort I did, but the main halls food was good for the 3 meals. With it being an open resort when it rained there would be puddles of water in various indoor areas mostly around entrances. The shuttle service to the beach was a nice touch. The main downer of the trip was I bought a whole new wardrobe and luggage for my Mexico trip and everything I brought smells like mold now, hundreds of dollars wasted. I was looking to explore the properties in other countries but after this experience im just going to bite the bullet and pay more for a better all inclusive resort

The staff is amazing, really go out of their way to make you feel valued. Very happy and pleasant to deal with. The enertainment staff at the main pool and excerise goes above and beyond. There was a wide variety of food available and the drinks were very good as well.

good location, close to main attractions, clean property, good rooms with working AC and fan, food and variety in is good, drinks ok, coffee machine with good cappuccino, beach is long and clean, very low on weed, mostly around Tulum hotel area, clean water and no smells, better to rent a car at airport to see all around. Coba and Tulum restaurants are best. Shows home made, nothing interesting, but local music is good. Tulum hotel area is not busy. In general very positive hotel for families with kids. Shuttle sometimes takes time, but ok

At the beginning of my stay everything was good. Staff was friendly, Jose at the pool bar, Manuel and his team at the buffet were excellent. I got a message and it was really good. Now at the end of my stay I got really sick ( throwing up, chills, I couldn’t leave my room) and when contact the “doctor” in the resort he stray told me I can’t do nothing for you, I have no medications to give you. My partner went to reception to ask if anybody could take him to OXO (convenience store) inside the one of the resort area to try to get me something and they told him no because at that time they didn’t have any driver for the golf cart and show him where the store was so he could walk (20 mins each way if not more). Then he saw a bellhop employee standing on the side and ask him, can you please take me to the store and he say NO. My partner was so desperate to get me something that he told the employee, I will pay you to take me, employee right away say ok I take you. You staying in all inclusive resort and is very disappointed that the doctor don’t have nothing to help you and where you have to pay for transportation just to try to get better.

I really loved that this property was family friendly. There were a lot of things that my family and I really enjoyed such as the kids center, the food, and the entertainment. There were also a few things that could be better. We could only make reservations for 3 nights out of our 7 night trip and they weren’t really the restaurants we wanted to eat at because the places we wanted to eat at were booked. We booked all of our reservations the day we arrived but all of the dinners were at the end of our stay. Luckily the buffet was good and we were able to eat good food. It just would have been nice to try all of the restaurants. Next we stayed in villa 2 and there were ants! We would kill them and more would show up they were even getting into our clothes. And also our room was so damp. Even clothes that we didn’t wear/ clothes that stayed in our suitcases had this damp feeling to them. Lastly the kids water park the water was FREEZING! And the slide drop offs were pretty high off the ground so I constantly saw kids getting scratches. My kids only wanted to play there once because the preferred the beach and pool areas. Over all the experience was good. My kids really enjoyed their first stay at a resort and for the price, scenery, and entertainment, I’d go again.
