Great location right near Dam Square, multiply tram options outside the front door...lovely side lanes with cafes and restaurants aplenty. Room was big enough for four day stay. Very clean. Would gave liked a bit brighter lighting in the room. Happy to recommend.

Fantastic property! Great location steps from the Royal Palace. Walkable to so much! The dinner restaurant was a bit slow but good food. I would stay there again!

Very Good location. 12 min from Central station. As well the street train stop is in front of location.. Rooms are quite small, typical European style. Only a small clothes rack, a d 1 drawer for clothes.

Die Port van Cleve is a charming and peaceful hotel in an excellent central location, just minutes from Dam Square and close to everything you need. The beds were very comfy—perfect after a long day of exploring. The rooms are quiet, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. However, the lighting is quite dim and could use more downlighting, as it can be hard to find things at night. The lifts are also very slow, which may test your patience. Overall, a lovely stay with great comfort and location—just a few tweaks away from perfect.

The hotel is in a great location and they even gave me a room with a bathtub I requested. My only grievances are that they never gave us fresh towels even when they were on the floor and dirty. They just folded them back up. And didn’t replace the mugs and cups. There was ac which was great. And tea and coffee. But it was only replaced once. They didn’t clean the room between nights which I thought was odd. And the phone didn’t work in the room. For the price I paid the service was mid but the location was great and the room was big.

I'd give this hotel 6 stars if I could. Our stay in part made for an absolutely excellent experience in Amsterdam. From the time we entered the hotel until we departed, my wife and I were greeted and treated with friendliness, professionalism, and a highly professional attitude. Our room was very comfortable, and the bed and pillows made for good sleeping. The location of the hotel was in a very safe area and was conveniently located within walking distance (20 minutes at the most) to the major attractions such as Dam Square, Ann Franke's house, the Canal Ring, Red Light District, various Museums, Centraal Station, as well as popular Districts. There is a Tram stop right across the street from the hotel in which you can take it to various areas of Amsterdam. Should we pay a return visit to Amsterdam, we will certainly consider staying at this hotel again.
