Really enjoyed our 6 night stay. Hotel is about 15-20 min walk from Central Station. Really liked the location and the quirkiness of the hotel. Very friendly and welcoming vibe. Rooms are a good size, very clean. Nice bar and restaurant. Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel

We had a great 2 nights traveling with my husband and two daughters. This hotel is so funky and cool- off the beaten path but close enough to walk everywhere in Amsterdam. You can also sit and watch the sunset from the back deck over the water- it felt like a beautiful refuge from downtown but only a 10 minute walk. The family room was also great- really spacious, bathroom was excellent- best family room we stayed in across 4 cities on our trip. And the staff was all kind and responsive. We felt like we were really staying in an authentic place.

This is a really cool place. We had an interesting arrival, not sure if we came in the back door. It is a little strange at first, you walk into a military base that looks nothing like where a hotel will be. Once you enter and see the decor, restaurant and most of all...location to the harbor with fun activities, walks on the water, food and entertainment. We were very sorry to miss many of these activities since we only were able to stay one night. I would definitely go back and stay longer.

Fun spot, located a bit on the outskirts

Fun spot for sure, dated but clean. Short walk from train station (about 17 mins if you are a fast walker). However we had some issues. Baggage hold area is next to front desk but seems to be located in an area a few people may have access and when you ask to leave baggage they open the door and let you drop/pick-up yourself, no tagging...so bit of a risk there if you have valuables in your bags. Our room, although dated as expected seemed pretty clean. However in the queen bed someone had slept underneath the sheets directly on the mattress cover and it had clearly not been washed. There were fresh spots of blood, hair, etc. Luckily we had booked the family room so we slept in the two single beds instead (it was just one night and we had no spare time left in our day to manage). I'm actually shocked room cleaning pulled dropped fresh sheets on this, it was clearly dirty. So we'll give it three stars.

Lovely views, a bit noisy outside one night but they were happy sounds. The south west facing windows made for a hot evening room. The staff provided a fan when requested, which helped so much. It cooled off at night. We enjoyed the restaurant for several meals.

Area is pleasant near marina. Our hot water heater trickled all night. Quite annoying. Thought that was normal but our travel mates didn’t have that problem. Wanted to make sure there were no pets in rooms and was told not. However a cat lives in this hotel so I was not comfortable being in the common areas like the restaurant. My allergies to cats is severe. Pleasant stay otherwise. About 20 min walk to train station.

Gem of a hotel!

We stayed 1 night prior to boarding a river cruise. I wish we had booked for the week after the cruise as well! It seems "out of the way" on first impression (we walked from Central Station with luggage) but after getting oriented we realized it was in a perfect place for walking into the centre of the old town. The route felt safe, and was free of road traffic and lead directly to the Oosterdoc. The room had a very comfortable and clean queen bed and very new and easy to use shower with great water pressure. Lots of space for clothing. Good blinds kept the light out for sleeping post a transatlantic flight. There was a lovely clean sitting area where you could make tea or coffee, sit in a comfy couch and read on every floor. The hotel's decor was vibrant, artsy and nautical, and the cafe/bar had a lovely vibrant and colourful atmosphere. The hotel is situated in a park right beside the Maritime Museum which adds to its charm. They accommodated our need for luggage storage for a few hours after our stay which is always a bonus when travelling. Would stay there again at any time!
