Marriners Lookout Retreat

Nestled in an elevated position at the foothills of Marriner’s Lookout, this 2 level retreat is at once immersed in nature and just a 2 minutes drive away from the hustle and bustle of Apollo Bay’s shops and cafes. Alternatively, you might prefer the 20 minute leisurely stroll into town via the scenic beach coastal track, the choice is yours.
This 2 level home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a European laundry, 2 decks to enjoy the views, and a spacious upstairs kitchen/dining & entertainment area.

The retreat is surrounded by native trees and wildlife. You might even be lucky enough to spot ‘our’ local koala as he eats and sleeps his way around the neighbouring properties! Enjoy the ocean, harbour, and township views from the top deck or, curtesy of the large floor-to-ceiling picture window, enjoy the same views from the comfort of the open plan living area. As night falls the outlook changes to the sparkling lights of the Apollo Bay township. On a clear night, feel free to use the retreat’s telescope and do a spot of stargazing.

Alternatively, take a seat in our SKARPÖ chairs on the ground floor deck overlooking the retreat’s rear garden. Be lulled into the present moment by the sound of nearby waves and soft wind chimes. Spy birds as they flit through the natural green corridor that surrounds you… What’s that bird you ask? Grab the retreat’s binoculars and find your answer in one of the many books on birds in the retreat’s library.

The recently renovated state-of-the-art kitchen features Caesar-stone waterfall bench tops and high-end appliances including a Bora Induction cooktop, a Gaggenau chef’s oven and a dishwasher.
Need fresh herbs? Just pop out the back to see what’s in season in our garden!

A timber staircase by the front entry leads up to the bright and spacious main living/entertainment area

The ground floor has two comfortable bedrooms (one of which also contains the retreat’s library), a bathroom and a European laundry with a washer and dryer. A clothesline is also provided on the paved patio, which can be conveniently accessed via the sliding door in the downstairs bathroom. Washing the sand from you on returning from the beach is a breeze with the thoughtfully positioned outdoor shower also on the patio.

Guests have access to the whole property except for locked cupboards which contain owners personal items.

Off street parking is available for up to 3 cars, with a single carport (note: low ceiling on carport unsuitable for cars with mounted roof racks etc).

We have children's Books but not toys.
Guests are welcome to bring their own kids' toys.

There are security cameras on the outside of the property only.
