A New Favourite
One of the best “Twixmas" breaks we've had in the most dog friendly hotel we've found. Staff couldn't have been nicer to us and our hairy companion. Location ideal (and beautiful), room very comfortable and spacious and food excellent. Thanks to all staff and we'll be back.

We had an excellent stay in a super room,all staff were friendly and approachable,it’s a beautiful hotel. The girl who checked us in was very friendly and professional. Only downside was the amount of emails sent regarding check in two phone calls,I was sent a link,to check in at least twice,I was unable to open the link ,I then phoned the hotel to advise I couldn’t open the link, I was told all was OK,the next day I received a call asking for more details,the night before I checked in I was sent another email regarding check in . Left me feeling a bit frustrated. The previous night we stayed at the Tor Na Coille, check in took less than one minute,and no emails,apart from one confirming conformation.

Pleasant revisit 25 years on
We were history repeating - staying at Banchory Lodge to visit our daughter in Aberdeen as my parents often did 3 decades ago to me! We hadn’t been there since we left the area nearly 25 years ago and it was nice to find the place feeling familiar. It has changed and developed since then, but still had a homely feel and we had excellent food and a very nice room with a comfortable bed - a bid deal for us these days! We missed the lovely lounge - now a dining room, and the old panelled dining room which is now a function suite. I’d have liked somewhere comfortable to sit for coffee after dinner - or, if staying longer, to sit and read etc. But I guess it’s serving meals that pays the bills now. The location is as lovely as ever and we enjoyed our stay very much.
