Staff was very helpful and friendly, most were fluent in English. The location of hotel is fabulous. The main drawback was, the hotel room was dated. There was broken furniture door in the room. Minimal toiletry provided, although not expected. Overall the room was comfortable enough for sleeping 3 people, it felt crmped trying to move about. The hotel lobby is quaint. Updated rooms would warrant a 5 rating. Until then it falls short but location tilts Catalonia de L'Àngel into a more desirable place to stay.

Nice hotel with central location.

This hotel is centrally located and close to all shops and attractions. We really enjoyed the balcony (not terrace) room. It faced a busy street and was great for people watching. Terrace rooms face the courtyard. However, they said we would receive a bottle of sparking wine with our stay and we did not. I spoke to the desk, they offered us two complimentary drinks so we took them at the bar but that didn’t count so we ended up paying. Not that big of a deal and likely due to miscommunication but worth mentioning because it was an advertised included amenity. I would still recommend the hotel though. It was nice.

Not quite what the reviews promised.. Our stay in Barcelona was fine. Not terrible, but definitely not the experience we were expecting based on the glowing reviews. We had booked through Expedia and were notified of a free room upgrade, but upon arrival, we were quickly informed that wouldn’t be happening. No explanation, just a flat “no,” which set the tone. The location is relatively central, near La Rambla, which is handy and having a pool helped on the hot days but it was very murky, cloudy and looked unclean. And I’m not sure fake grass around the pool is the best idea.. As for the room - basic at best. Our “view” was of a tired old courtyard scattered with cigarette butts, which didn’t exactly scream Barcelona magic. All in all, it was an average stay that didn’t live up to the hype. Front desk customer service skills need to be improved especially around being friendly. The chambermaid was excellent except did not vacuum the floor each day as we found the floor still sandy each day from the day before after going to the beach.

We loved this little boutique hotel and it was close to everything! Cafes, doctors, pharmacies, shops, tours- you name it- we walked to it within minutes of this lovely hotel. The rooms were large enough- maybe even spacious by European standards. We booked a room with a balcony- not street view so not a stellar view but interesting and nice to have that outdoor space. Check in was quick and easy. We went on a food tour and hop on hop off which the friendly people at the front desk were able to do for us. Both were awesome. We went on the hop on hop off tour in Lisbon and this was so much better. So much to see and do in Barcelona. The food tour was also so much fun and the food was excellent. Our guide- Nick - was awesome. Knew where to go and tons of history. They have a cute little pool area near the restaurant area and an inviting bar. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. Just one street over from the major La Rambla and it was perfect!

Very nice hotel, bathroom is spacious comparing with other hotels of the same level. Staff are all professional and friendly. Location is close to all shops and restaurants. Very convenient.

Although the facility and location are good, the staff is atrocious. There was always a vacuum or cart in the hall. The “welcome water” was lukewarm - no ice - despite my complaint. Worst of all, the desk staff dared to argue with me at length about a trivial matter, reflecting a total failure to understand the nature of service. I cannot condemn this host strongly enough and I will never return. Amateurs.
