The kitchen area was simple but satisfactory. A fridge, 2 burned cooker, kettle, some well used pots, toaster and tea coffee supplies. The apartment I had was located on an upper floor so I had to carry luggage up two flights of a staircase. The TV would not connect to wifi so only basic live TV was available. The mattress on the double bed was really way too soft so I did not sleep comfortably. It was very quiet and also located right near the Bathurst race track. The bed linen and towels were very clean and a good number of pillows were supplied. The shower was excellent in relation to hot water and pressure. The building is extremely interesting if you like old historical buildings. I liked the wood panels, old marble fireplace (no longer usable) and wooden door frames. I stated for 1 night. The lack of TV network connectivity bothered me. I could not sign into my streaming services. The apartment was reasonably priced.

I think it depends on when you stay at the Hallows as to how much you will enjoy it. During busy periods I think it would be a good choice - the front part of the building is nicely restored and although things deteriorate a bit as you get into the rear of the building, it's comfortable enough. On our first night there was just us and one other couple staying. On the second night, just us. The building is very large and rambling and there was no one at reception at any stage. The property is on the outskirts of town and feels quite isolated. I certainly wouldn't recommend if you are travelling alone. It's a huge, empty space. It's good value for money though, with the facilities you get.

No one at reception desk at all over the weekend. To find your room you had to follow the arrows upstairs through corridors, through lounge areas. Obviously a place for workers as every second room had dirty work boots in the corridors. Kitchen sink tap handle lifted straight up, not secured and the shower screen was very hard to open and close, we were worried it would break.

No contact checkin. Pouring water from electric jug was a challenge, spout not very good. Otherwise it was clean and comfortable and quiet. Nice place to stay. full of racing photos just a shame there wasn't anything on the building's history.
