The chalet was very comfortable and warm, with beautiful views across the mountains. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The village itself was lovely, although it was quite a trek uphill. Unfortunately, the lifts up the mountain were closed and there was no snow during our stay, but despite this we still had a very enjoyable Christmas.On the downside, the chalet is accessed via a very narrow road with no passing places and is located high up a steep, winding road at around 1,400 metres above sea level. As we had no snow, access was fine, but it could be tricky in snowy conditions. There are also over 50 steps leading up to the chalet, so it would not be suitable for anyone with fitness or mobility issues.

Wonderful property with great view. Everything you need for a good stay.Not really a negative but just be very aware and finding the property is not easy. At least for us it wasn't. The photos provided by the owners are accurate.

Location is great however the amenities are not up to the mark. Bed sheets are very old and itchy. For some reason, they didn't even provide soaps in the bathrooms either. I can understand the space constraints but the shower didn't have neither space for soap holder nor a bath gel holder too. Though it is little difficult to get to the place, overall it is a nice home with beautiful views though.

Fantastic

Fantastic view on the lakes and mountains, close to many hikes as well. About 15-20 minutes from Interlaken up in the mountain. Excellent equipment and beautiful terrace. Unfortunately, we tripped a breaker on our last night when my daughter tried to plug her adapter herself, losing electricity...didn't find the right box/breaker to reset ! Hopefully, nothing broke. Sorry for that.

Comfortable, fully appointed rental with beautiful views

We were very comfortable here with plenty of room for all 4 of us. The kitchen is well appointed and easy to use, with everything you need and then some! The beds were comfortable. The living room is large and balcony is large enough to eat outside. Views of the Berner Oberland Alps and Lake Thun are beautiful. There are some grocery stores in town, and hotels have excellent restaurants, so you do not have to drive down in the mountain to eat dinner. Highly recommend this a base to explore the Interlaken Region,

Beautiful, stunning home in the alps

First of all Uwe and Elke were friendly, professional and easy to work with. Now the chalet. The pictures dont do it justice, the living space is large and roomy with great touches such as lap blankets and a small library. The bed was comfortable, everything was really clean. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a snack or a family meal. The star of the show is the balcony.. Clever wind screening makes it comfortable to sit outside most of the time. And the view! It felt like you could touch the Jungfrau from the balcony. No real negatives but one suggestion, for late/Sunday arrivals is there any option for a food pack that we could have paid for to give us basic goods such as milk and bread as we arrived on a Sunday and everything was closed We loved this place and would love to come back

View is amazing with a great balcony. It’s about a 15 walk to the nearest cafe. Beatenberg is a nice little town but a little limited, we needed to drive into Interlaken for most activities. House is well equipped. Enjoyed our stay

Beautiful view and comfortable chalet

The chalet is past the town of Beatenburg. It was a little hard to find due to heavy fog. We ended up lost but fortunately a helpful neighbor helped us to the home. It was clean, spacious, and well equipped. You might want to stop for food in Interlaken. The view was spectacular and the cow bells ringing in the valley made it so unique. The path to the upper road with a few stores was hard to find but once we found it getting to the stores and walking every evening was so nice. If we get a chance to return we will definitely try to get this chalet. It would have been nice to have one English channel on tv because they were all non-English.

We loved the chalet, the location was great and fantastic views over lake Thun and Jungfrau.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only feedback I have for the owners is the information booklet and the operating manuals were all in German. For guests like us who don't read/understand German need help in translating the menus, the buttons and dials in the appliances - so translated manuals (in English) would be very helpful. Overall a great stay at Chalet Hinkelstein.

Traumhafte Fewo

Wir haben ein paar Tage in dieser schönen FeWo verbracht. Der Ausblick vom Balkon war atemberaubend. In der Fewo war alles vorhanden. Die Einrichtung und Ausstattung hat uns sehr gefallen. Die Informationen zur Anreise waren perfekt, weil das Navi nicht so ganz richtig lag. Selbst, wenn wir wollten, uns fällt nichts ein, was hätte besser sein können. Gern kommen wir wieder.
