The property was excellent. Disappointed to find upon arrival that the restaurant had closed early with no bar facilities, and they weren’t going to be open at all the 2nd night. I chose hotel accomodation to be able to have somewhere to eat and drink at the end of the day……but this wasn’t possible unfortunately

The place was nothing like advertised. The pool was filthy, filled with leaves. The bathroom looked like something out of a prison. The shower was a separate windowless room. Neither the toilet or shower door would close except from the inside with an ancient latch. They were so gross, the floors must have been 30+ years old and the grout was filthy. The toilet would not flush unless you held it down for a very long time and flushed multiple times. There was no ventilation in the bathrooms and the light did not turn on without jiggling it and waiting for it to filter on.

The hotel was on lovely large grounds, it was located about 1.5 kms uphill from the main street, so quite a walk into town. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the meal was very nice. The pool was dirty, lots of debris on the bottom so not really useable. One of the reception staff was friendly but the others I would describe as 'cool'.

No meals on Tuesday nights! half-slices of thin white bread for the “continental breakfast.” No fruit or fruit juice. Sole employee who made the coffee, also vacuumed the reception area and worked the till! Grand Oak is a misnomer… it’s Grand Joke!

We had to keep asking whoever, the toiletries to be stocked in our room. There was no one at reception most of the time and the hall light did not go on until 8am. We had to check in ourselves as there was no one at reception.The breakfast was non existent, toast cereal for $10 and tea and coffee was an extra fee.No phone and USB connection. Nowhere to put your suitcase and we had to ask for milk twice. We would NOT recommend this place until the above is fixed. Simply disgraceful.😡😡

A very nice property located at the top of Mayday Hills that has lovely gardens for a morning walk around the estate. Room somewhat compact however for a solo, overnight stay it was great. The decor is charming and created a lovely ambience. There was no cooked breakfast available on the Monday, however the continental breakfast was enough. A beautiful morning to enjoy the sun on the deck and loads of friendly magpies singing for their breakfast!
