Stayed at the Ramada for 4 days as I had a conference in the area. Counter staff were pleasant and courteous but English proficiency was minimal. The room was generously sized but oddly laid out - felt like a standard room had an annex tacked on for no good reason. Beds were rather hard but the decent chinese restaurant on the ground floor supplied the room service with a passable menu. The overall condition of the hotel is poor - once you get past the lobby, the corridors are dimly lit and there is an odd odour in the air. Its a serviceable hotel and reasonably priced for the area, but not a happy, friendly place.

Cheap but good hotel

Cheap hotel stayed at both no window room and window room both are quite comfortable, very good price. There are adult attributes for sale in the bathroom which makes you wonder what the hotel is used for, but did not effect my stay in any way. Used the in room massage (was bit doubtful given previous comment, but thought it is the ramada), was actually really good and nothing dodgy

Disappointing based on our previous stays

First came to this hotel on our first China trip 7 years ago; were warmly welcomed and appreciated the location. Have been back a few times but not for a few years, and so very disappointed to see how it has gone downhill. We knew we were getting 'no window,' but the room was so warm. The tower-type 'fan' didn't help a whole lot. The toilet never flushed properly, which we should have reported. But we thought the cleaning staff would have noticed after the first day or two. The doorman was helpful in getting us taxis, and we know the neighborhood. But ya gotta fix that plumbing and make the rooms cooler and brighter. Very dark corners and bad lighting.

Pleasant stay for business purpose

Its a hotel for business travellers, rather than for tourists. Location is only good if you have business to do within the vinicity of Olympics park, and BICC area. Not meant for tourists who wants to see the major sightseeing places. Within Ramada vinicity, there are variety of F&B. Subway is about 15 mins walk or less than 5 mins cab ride. The subway will take you to Wangfujing within 25mins. Breakfast is rather Chinese style and doesn't change much. Staff lacks English proficiency. So if you are a English speaking, you need to speak really slow and be patient with the staff. They are helpful and friendly, no doubt. I took the Business guest room, 40sqm. Big and comfy. Good housekeeping. Clean by my standards. Pillows are fluffy ,but not my type, so i got some neck aches. Yes there are some ciggy smell, but this happens to any China hotel. The vincity is not a dead area, it has F&B restaurants, MacD, and also a number of SPA or massage places. The nearest shopping mall that i know is Xin Ao Shopping Centre, right at Olympics Park, about 20 mins walk. Not a big mall, but it offers more F&B, retail shops and has a cinema. Good enough to spend couple of hours.

4 Star standard, but avoid windowless rooms

This Ramada is modern and clean, with good amenities and great breakfast. The window-less room not only doesn't have windows, but is significantly smaller than other rooms. Upgraded rooms are worth its money, and I'd strongly recommend those options. Apart from that, very nice hotel, nice service, and definitely in the 4-star class.

Hotel to stay at the north part of Beijing

I've stayed in this hotel three times. If you are looking for a hotel at the north part of Beijing, I strongly recommend this hotel. They gave me a free room upgrade. My room is clean and quiet. Excellent location. Excellent service. Have some great restaurants close by. There is a famous seafood buffet right in the second floor. Easy access to airport freeway. Will stay here again next time.

The location was good the quality was excellent. It is within walking distance of Olympic Park. it was only a short taxi ride to the subway station. The hotel was very nice, however the standard room that I had did not have a window, which was OK but the air conditioning did not seem to work. So there was a fan in the room to help cool it down but it was still too hot

Near Olympic village and conference center

I came for a conference. It was convenient to the conference center (although still a solid 20 minute walk; cheap $1.50 taxi but taxis can be difficult to find at rush hour). If not for the conference, I definitely would not choose this neighborhood in Beijing. The hotel was very clean and facilities seemed new. Heat works very well. Bathroom is modern full-sized shower with door and not the type where water sprays all over your bathroom like many other hotels in china. The bed/mattress was very hard, but that seems to be the case everywhere in china. Staff speak decent English (probably good by Chinese standards but this is a low standard), enough to figure things out more or less but not enough to arrange very complex things for you.

Conveneint for Running at The Olympic Forest Park
