Older decor but clean. Comfortable beds and well appointed show. Our room overlooked Faneuil Hall. Steps away from the freedom trail and the North End. Couldn't be happier with our stay.

Sorely disappointed

We paid nearly $500 per night to stay here and expected the experience to match, but the room was not cleaned well, there was black mold lining the caulking in the shower, and a used bandaid stuck to the shower floor. We also paid an extra "destination fee" that should have included a couple bottles of water, but when we asked for them the night we came in, we were told they were out and we could go ask for a glass of water in the restaurant. Not at all the experience we thought we'd have after paying so much for this hotel. Although the location is great, we asked for a refund and went elsewhere.

The location was amazing. Great central location to just about everything you want to do. The bed is comfortable, and the cleaning staff does a pretty good job of making the room and restocking. We noticed that the city or at least this building has pretty soft water. Takes a bit to get used to. Unfortunately, there were a lot of events around the area, and the front counter doesn't seem to know when the events end. Luckily they ended around 10:00 pm, but if you're looking to get an early night, good luck. The window seals on our windows were not great so you could hear EVERYTHING outside. There was paint chipping in the bathroom and some other parts of the bedroom. I found mold by the shower which i have shared some photos. The shower temperature knob and cover plate came off when we used it. Water pressure was pretty low for the shower, but extremely high for the sink. The sink doesn't seem to drain so great when turned on even more than 10% on. So you're better off letting the water come out slowly. The lights and some chromed parts of the bathroom showed quite a bit of rust. Lastly, they took the coffee pot, but not the machine. So if you wanted to use it, you'd have to pay for it? Not sure what the point of that was. They tell you that you can get bottles of water, but when we asked, they said they ran out. So we brought back a 12 pack of water from Walgreens. Overall it was OK, but I don't know if I would ever be able to give it 5 stars.

You pay for the location and be ready to pay at least $45 a day for parking. Our room had dirty walls, wreaked like cigarettes, and there was a stain on the chair. I purchased a superior room but I don’t think that’s what I got… nothing superior about the room. And to top it off I forgot a new dress with tags. I called 4x and after explaining where I had left it they would put me on a brief hold and hang up. The last person we spoke with confirmed they have my information but even still after they hung up on me I did NOT get a call back. Of course they don’t want to return MY new $65 dress. Overall horrible experience.

Great Location Hidden Fees

Be aware that there is a $40 per day destination fee. They also charge $50 if you want to check in early and charge to have a mini fridge in your room. Unheard of! They nickel and dime you for standard features. Also, Originally they put me in a room where the air conditioning wasn’t working, and there was some kind of makeshift air conditioner in there and my view was of a trashcan. They got us another room, but I was disappointed that they would put us in a room that was old and musty and looked like it should’ve been closed for renovation rather than putting us there for a four day stay originally. The front desk staff is not that friendly, but the hotel location is amazing. Close to everything and quiet and peaceful at night. We would stay there again, but I do feel like they may need to step up their front desk customer engagement.
