I rarely make review, but this place is rated way too high. Dirty bedspread and floor, old shower, minimal towels, hole in bathroom wall, very noisy next to freeway, no air conditioning or sound proofing. 96 degrees! Not worth the money

I was really disappointed that I paid over $100 for this room. We had no towels, no toilet paper, outlets didn’t work, a lamp didn’t work, and then when we tried to call for more towels (with the number provider) there was no answer. Wouldn’t have had such an issue if we had been provided with the standard amenities.

The whole room was disgusting. It seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. I walked on the floor after my shower and my feet turned black.

Floor was FILTHY! Room/bath needed updating 25 years ago. No hooks in bathroom. Bedding was questionable. No A/C. Noisy neighbors. Parking sucked. Went cheap and still didn't get what we paid for.

Nice views of parts of the ocean and horizon, but room assignment determines that view. It is an old, tired unmaintained, unkept, patch work assembling a room. Weird room layout in #30. One bed in an alcove, foot facing side of other bed,another facing the where the desk would have been. Corners, built up with crud. Wall heater behind the entertainment furniture that TV/microwave was on. The beds were a good sleep! The office is uniquely a mess. Checkout, no one available on property, told went to the bank...during /check out! At check in was chatting along with a friend the entire time. Opened door and TV was on. Would then discover the remote did not match the box. What??? Took 3x to get it to work. Staff did take care of the issue when asked..but I was already mentiong, joking about a room rate deduction. Maybe spurred him on? Would I stay here again, if there was a Kite festival and all sleeping rentals were full. And even then,overnight, I could probably make my van work for me.

No coffee cups the flooring is coming up the bed was like sleeping on concrete with rocks, the tv you almost couldn’t see, had to go and get towels, tolite paper,It was hot so leaving the window open you heard the traffic on 101 all night. We won’t stay there again.

My husband and I, and his daughter and son-in-law stayed here for a two days visit to the coast. We had both booked 2 king rooms. They got their king room, but we ended up with a double queen room. When I said we wanted what I paid for, the hotel receptionist said that "Hotels.com" overbooked the hotel rooms and that the hotel rooms were sold out so there was nothing they could do. That was regrettable, but we decided to make the best of it. However, it went downhill from there. The doublqueen room was so small that you had to walk sideways past the foot of one bed in order not to hit the wall to get to the bathroom. The entertainment area was in front of the other queen bed just inside the door, so the bed closest to the bathroom couldn't see the tv except on one side of the bed. The towels were stained, all of them! So bad that it was uncomfortable using them, they looked like cleaning rags! Finally, although there were shampoo and body wash dispensers on the wall of the shower, they were empty. The daughters king room, no shampoo or soap either. And worse, son-in-law who took the first shower ended up standing in water as the shower wouldn't drain. Also there's an ice machine, but it's broken, and obviously had been for a long time. The only nice thing to say was the bed was comfortable. The hotel is very dated. Will not return.

4 family couples requested way in advance for close together. Had to wait because they didn't know if the rooms were even ready at 3pm. We're put on 3 different levels. Rooms were hot and stuffy. Went and bought a fan to use. Broken ice machine, strict use implied for bath towel usage. No air cond.

Property photos on Expedia DID NOT reflect the state of repair of this motel. It was marketed as a quaint little seaside boutique motel but it’s basically a run-down roadside place with no view and no charm to make up for being in rough shape. Furniture looked like it came out of the local thrift shop, bathroom was grungy no bed cover (just sheets) and while the office did wait an extra ten minutes for our 11:10pm arrival, there was no one on duty the next morning at 8:30am when guests were checking out. Ok place to crash in a pinch, but I wouldn’t book Blue Coast expecting anything more.

This was my 3rd visit here over the years. This year was the best. I had a room closest to the highway. It was noisier but I really liked the room and its cleanliness, how they decorated it and …I had ear plugs. They will need to renovate the bathroom but although dated, very clean and the whole place smelled clean. I couldn’t have improved upon it. The beds & pillows were comfy. You can walk to everything. Harris beach is a few minutes north. It has a desk, microwave, little fridge and a very cool selection of keurig coffee right in your room. Soap and shampoo dispenses in the bathroom and in the shower. Victor, the young man who checked us in, couldn’t have been more present (I never saw him on his phone) friendly, warm and helpful. Kudos to the staff.We will see you next year!!
