Fiesta Americana Hotels & Resorts - accommodation in Calera

The staff were very nice and attentive. We very much appreciated their help. It was a beautiful hotel with an old-Zacatecas charm that looks like it was modernized to some extent. The breakfast served every day was excellent. Everyone looks like they worked hard and enjoy what they do. All of this goes a long way. A couple of things to note on our stay, which should not under any circumstances deter you from staying here was that: 1) the room we got had a cigarette smoke, specifically on the curtains. We aired out the balcony curtains a few days and it still had a cigarette smell. Not sure if parts of the hotel were smoke friendly or only a select few or the previous room renter smoked without hotel knowledge, but even with airing it out, it made some difference but not enough. 2) It was still warm during the days in Zacatecas (September month), and our room didn't have an AC. We overheard a couple complaining about the lack of AC, and mentioned that another family member had AC. I took that with a grain of salt but if true, I kind of wish my room and other rooms had AC. Would make a difference especially during the warm days. 3) The day before checking out, we asked front desk if they can help us order a taxi for the day after

This a unique hotel built in an old bull fight arena, beautiful property if you travel to Zacatecas I highly recommend to stay here for a special experience.
