We fell in love with Sandos. The atmosphere was amazing and welcoming. We were very thankful that the resort was mostly English speaking. Rooms were clean and beautiful. Room service was tremendous and the bar tenders were professional.

Ok place for a quick 4-5 day trip. I wouldn’t rate this an 8 of 10, though. All the bathrooms always needed floors cleaned, toilet tissue or paper towel. Hardly ANY locks work in the bathrooms. Paint peeling everywhere. It’s basic. Small, which I liked. My favorite was the smoothies in the morning. Otherwise I rate this a 7. Generally service was good.

Overall the place is a nice getaway… yes the sun gets blocked out over the pool in the early Evening but the sun on the beach lasts well into supper time.. the food is good quality. The staff is very kind.. Rooms are spacious and clean, the housekeeping staff seem thoughtful. I would have liked for a hot tub or sauna though without paying extra my only gripe..

The restaurants were very nice. The rooms were ok. Spacious but needed updating. The outside property was in need of upkeep. Not many cabanas or swim chairs. Had to go down very early to get a spot by the beach or pool. No swim up bar, but wait staff are very friendly. They didn’t take the beach until our last day there. It’s a pain to get into restaurants- it’s a two day wait to get into the Hibachi grill. No one told us so we never got in. Steakhouse was terrible. We got out food and basically walked out and went to the buffet.

We had a great time. The staff are fantastic. The beachfront and outdoor pool areas were definitely the highlight. The hotel itself needs some updating as we had to get maintenance in to fix our shower door and toilet.

The location was top notch. The facilities however, were not. Our room in particular. Our shower leaked which caused all the wood work near the shower to be rotted and moldy. The toilet basin was cracked as was the bathroom counter and the bath tub surround. I asked room service for extra towels to deal with all the water on the floor and they never sent any. Food was good but we both found hair in our food. The service was very slow everywhere. We consistently had to wait to be seated, to get drinks, to be served. Not sure if this is just Mexico in general, as this was our first trip. Also, a big bummer was the hot tub was broken and no one told us. Some positives- the food was pretty good, staff was fairly friendly, the views/location were on point and there was always entertainment. (That being said, most days there was a DJ at the pool from 9-6 and it was always loud and bumping- which wasn’t always relaxing.) We did ann excursion through Seek and Go and it was awesome! We saw Chichén Itzá, a cenote and a local town. The excursion was the highlight of the trip. Overall we enjoyed our trip, but will not be returning to stay at Sandos.

If you want to come to a beautiful beach and just relax this is a great resort. Staff was friendly and attentive. My only areas I would improve- hard to get dinner reservations! upon arrival had to take a 10pm dinner rsvp for the hibachi restaurant. Second the times for the bar are too late- 11am is 2 hours late to get a drink by the pool when the sun rises at 6 and you've been at the pool for 2 hours

The buffet food wasnt never hot . I paid extra for a king bed and got 2 singles. On a honeymoon that didnt go over so well with me . The hotel gave me a down graded room for a king size , but had to talk to a manager about the situation. Probably will never go to another Sandos hotel over the experience i had there
