Solo stay at an adults-only resort that lacked soul and energy. I stayed at Sandos as a solo traveler, expecting a peaceful, adult-only atmosphere — but I left more emotionally drained than relaxed. The property is on the smaller side, which I normally wouldn’t mind, but it lacked the vibrancy you’d expect from a resort: no live events, no pool bar, and limited social energy overall. It felt very quiet — and not in a calming way, more in a disconnected way. Reservations for the restaurants were fully booked early, and as a solo guest, I had to constantly navigate everything on my own. There wasn’t much effort from the staff to guide or check in — I often felt invisible unless I initiated everything myself. Some staff were kind (and I tipped them), but overall, the energy was inconsistent and lukewarm at best. I never once felt unsafe, which I truly appreciated as a solo Black woman, but the emotional isolation was real. This might be a fit for couples looking to do nothing, but for solo travelers seeking warmth, hospitality, or even just connection — this may not be the place. Wouldn’t return.

Definitely a smaller resort. The rooms were a bit older compared to some of the other resorts, but it was a good stay. The staff were all really nice. Outside the resort had a laundrymat and a small convience shop. Lots of people walking around so it felt safe. There are only 3 restaurants for dinner then the buffet as the fourth option. Buffett was the same food everyday and the other restaurants the same way. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights so we tried them all. Not alot of things to do during the day. Music at the pool was only 2 hrs out od the whole day. Wish they had more music throughout the day

Overall, this resort was excellent. We went for a friend trip and had a great time. Freddy (Super Freddy) provided outstanding poolside service and really made our trip enjoyable. The spa service was great as well. Our rooms were clean and well stocked. The buffet and restaurants were great. Front desk staff and the manager (arm tattoo and glasses) were not very friendly and came across as condescending. They should not assume people don’t understand Spanish while speaking to each other. I found a piece of jewellery in the pool and turned it in. I hope it was returned to its owner!

I enjoyed everything about my stay and my Sandos Cancun I would recommend it and have to family and friends. I would also like to point out the staff starting with Miguel on the 6floor bartender, Victor from bar 1 bartender, Itzel host for buffet, Elizabeth waiter from buffet, Paval waiter from Japanese restaurant, Teresa and Carla from spa. These individuals were amongst the staff that stood out to me and my friends while on our stay. And for the snorkeling excursion we did Miguel highly recommend. Thank you so much Sandos Cancun wish to visit pretty soon, so glad y’all made my first beach visit ever an incredible experience.

The staff at Sandos were great! It was a pleasant surprise to see that they had a bit of a turn up pool party in the afternoon, but with that the only downfall is the food. The food is not terrible but it’s definitely not 5 star restaurant, it’s good enough to keep something in your belly (6/10). Gabriel (aka Gabby) was great !!
