Check-in was a joke. Three times the check-in didn’t work, and the operator at the phone line they offer wanted us to repeat the same procedure? Then the room code didn’t work, and again the operator gave us two more useless codes and then wanted us to wait in the hall for 10 minutes while they called for help. The one staff member went home early because he was tired. No one manned the lobby bar, the restaurant was terribly understaffed and the libby rest rooms were filthy with not toilet paper or hand towels. No one ever addressed our issues, knowing full well what was happening. WORST HOTEL EVER!

The staff was great but the check in process was a nightmare. They sent me to a room they wasn’t cleaned and it took 45 min to get it sorted. Luckily the staff was great but whatever manager or ownership group decided to force this new check-in process should be fired

The Doyle hotel’s downstairs is very beautiful and modern. Our room was very spacious although if we wanted our room cleaned, we had to pay for it!! also many parts of the day there was downstairs at all to help us. No one working to be found. There was one guy and he would just walk out the front door and be gone and then reappear hours later. No wonder they are selling the hotel again. Our bathroom floor was not clean and the wall behind the toilet had to be cleaned. It was dirty.

The location, the cleanliness of the room. But there is no stuff everything’s virtual. It’s very difficult. If you have any kind of problems, I found that extremely challenging the TV was not working. The toilet ran all night.

The Doyle appears to be an example of what happens when tech bros decide they want to disrupt the hospitality industry. Here’s what I mean: There’s no front desk. No one is there to greet you or give you your keys. Check-in is via text message. Room keys are 4-digit door codes, also sent via text. The hotel sent me the wrong key code for my room, which, after a long drive through dense nighttime fog, was frustrating because my call for assistance wasn’t to the front desk but a call center somewhere off property, probably overseas. The correct key code was finally sent and we gained entry. Nothing sounded better than a hot shower, but the water was cold and there was no soap or conditioner. Normally, a call to the front desk or housekeeping would address these concerns, but as there’s no staff on property, we had to wait until the next day for refills. There’s also no daily housekeeping unless you want to pay extra. I didn’t think to check for that when booking. There’s no on property parking, but there is valet. Sometimes. We left our car with valet, and to retrieve it required doing so via text, which we did, but that night, the valet stand packed up and gone. Luckily, when we did find someone who worked at the hotel, he found our keys and told us where to find our car. This person was never seen again. Imagine we needed our car and he wasn’t there? He suggested we write a review sharing our experience. Hospitality via text doesn’t work. You still need the human touch.

This was the first time staying at a hotel without a front desk, and not gonna lie I was a little nervous, however they texted the link to my phone to check in and out and the code for our room when it was ready. It was very confident and easy and I very much like the keyless entry! We had a few small issues with WiFi and hot water and they were quick to respond. The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because of the location and parking; the hotel is hard to spot because the building is thin and doesn't have a sign. There is also no parking. No street parking, no parking lot which would not be a problem if they had complimentary valet, but they don't. Valet was $25 a day which was an unexpected expense and honeslty very inconvenient as my handicap mother and infant daughter (3 months old) were traveling with me.

Restaurant staff was nice, but general customer service for the hotel room was not helpful. I called to request a room change because our small window faces a brick wall, making the room feel very closed in. I never received a call after speaking with someone who said they would contact their management or text back, so we ended up stuck in the same room. There’s also what appears to be a frat Christmas party with over a hundred young college students happening in the lobby which has made it impossible to use the amenities on the main lobby. The room itself has several maintenance issues: the bathroom door doesn’t fully close, the toilet paper holder is coming off the wall, and there are random marks on the back of the door. The walls are very, very thin so you can hear any activity in the hall. On a positive note, the shower pressure was nice and the bed was comfortable. Overall, a very disappointing experience aside from the restaurant staff and the holiday decor in the restaurant.
