A very clean and comfortable room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Having a laundry on site and a supermarket and coffee shop next door were +++. Only negative would be having to climb in and out of bath to have a shower. Any water on the floor made it a bigger hazard to climb out. Sliding glass shower screens would help stop water going on floor but next time I would ask for a walk-in shower if they were available. But other than that, it was a great stay and would definitely recommend it. A+

Despite the hotel being a little older, the location, staff and convenience were all first rate. We had a quick 3 night getaway and walked everywhere quite quickly and easily. Amazing harbour and city views from our room. We will be back on our next Sydney visit.

Pros: Great value for money. Booked during a sale on Wotif with 20% off, plus additional cashback. Onsite parking is only $25 per day which is the cheapest rate I could find. Excellent location — within a 10-minute walk to the Australian Museum, St Mary’s Cathedral, the Botanical Garden, and Westfield Shopping Centre. Food options nearby are excellent, especially Toki Italian inspired and Red Lantern Restaurant. It’s very convenient to grab a breakfast and shopping in Metro just next door. The room was clean and the mattress was very comfortable. It is a king size bed made from two singles joined together, comfortably sleeping three people — ideal for parents traveling with one child. Cons: The room overall felt a bit dated. One of two standard rooms I booked was dark when I turned on all the lights. The shower is in a bathtub, which wasn’t very comfortable and could be inconvenient or unsafe for elderly guests.

Bus runs to Town hall frequently but it’s only a 10 minute walk to trains. Williams St side is at busy intersection and opposite the Strand Hotel, but didn’t get disturbed by noise, only heard the occasional fire engine. Rooms on the other side apparently have great views.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location and amazing view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House (level 21). The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Could do with a bit of updating and there wasn't any room service but overall, a good stay.
