The resort has seen better days. Ageing infrastructure, pool villas not upto scratch with working pools and mosquitoes very very bad. Food on offer for breakfast and buiffets was below par for a westerner. Christmas buffet was mosting dissapointing for the price paid. Would i recommend, NO.

For context I am not a 5star gal - I can be easily pleased. Overall it needs updating and some tender loving care! Old doesn’t have to be dank and musty. The rooms albeit large felt dark and moldy. We wanted quiet and it felt like the couple beside us was with us (paper thin walls on first floor). - Plunge pool not private you see your neighbour and the mosquitos chase you away anyway so we couldn’t use it. -Staff were transactional and at times friendly. They were fairly responsive when you call for something (within minutes for water one time, another time we waited 15 minutes). - Bed hard as a rock, pillows flattened and/or hard. - Shower some mould and water temp varied every shower we took from chilled to burning hot. Quite unpleasant! - Mosquitos were very bad when we arrived then they sprayed and felt a world of difference. Sadly the spray was 330p on Friday - optimal pool time. - Everything additional is over priced. Buffet for breakfast has everything but it’s over priced considering we can go to market for under $100 baht and get amazing fresh meat, chicken porridge and sticky rice. - Use grab from airport (for context it was $25 Canadian on Wed night night hotel pick up versus $7 Sunday morning via grab) - Pool ok - it was clean for us, some nice sun early (11am-2pm) but the green towels are awful, shredded and holes in them…sad. For what we are paying it seems misaligned and unfortunate. They could really take the bones and make it charming again. Freshen it up

Breakfast was goodost of the time. There were times that the rice was hard unfortunately. I only ever got rice, French toast and eggs so that was really disappointing. Staff was nice but took them 2 days to finally replace the sheets on my bed. Also wifi stopped working for me. Also my room was in a terrible location. Right next to a maintenance closet. Most mornings I was woken up by staff banging around in that closet.

The staff was amazing. The hotel was in a good location. The room and facilities were pretty clean, there were a few insects here and there, but it’s an outdoor resort so it’s to be expected. The pool and views are great!! I went during the CAD lantern festival so they had so many activities. The food options were average for me, I’m not a huge fan of buffet style, but if you have a family or are not picky it might be worth it! Transportation arrangements did get a little lost in translation that were arranged with the hotel. I would suggest double checking car size and confirmations. Other than that a wonderful stay and hospitality was amazing!

I wouldn’t call this a luxury resort. We were most excited about this hotel and were beyond ready to leave. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. However, laundry services for 5 days of clothes cost more than 2 nights stay which is ridiculously expensive. They also lost a tie belt for my pants. The walls were extremely thin where we could hear families and children yelling from the pool while in our room and furniture being constantly rearranged above and around us. We woke up on our second night to the ceiling flooding all over the tile floors. No one was around to fix it so they gave us a key to the room next door to keep sleeping. They didn’t come around until 12 to fix it. They also didn’t clean or replace towels, leaving days of towels in the bin in the room. The shower had mold surrounding the tiles. The bed wasn’t that comfortable and I woke up with back pain every morning. The jets to the private plunge pool for our room didn’t work. So instead we went to the main pool-which is gorgeous but they don’t skim or clean it, so it was filled with dirt, bugs and leaves. Overall we don’t recommend.

Thank you for such an amazing experience. The restaurant at the resort had a great variety of both Thai food and American food. Thank you again for such a great experience. Highly recommended!

The hotel was given a wonderful description but i believe it deserves fair or good. The swimming pool is old, dirty water all the time, too much bush and stagnant water, huge amounts of mosquitoes, the beddings smelled moldy, my sister would not stop sneezing. At least Expedia should be open about rating so people can choose their favorite. Its located in old town chiang mai, away from eateries, less transportation or expensive and their restaurant has less food choices. I almost forgot to mention about cockroaches in the dining area.

Huge room, but mouldy and smelly. Mosquitoes made it impossible to keep door open in order to air room out. Would be lovely room if mould and smell taken care. Mosquitoes understandable in this season. Bigger problem was staff. Many didn’t understand English. Front desk staff did but were unfriendly, not accommodating (explained below) and weirdly aggressive. A terrible way to start a holiday having to deal with this kind of staff who are the face of the hotel. Housekeeping staff very nice. Breakfast horrendous - not suitable for vegetarian or vegan or if have allergies as they didn’t seem to understand that concept. Food served included ingredient which staff at time of booking, and again at check-in, and again at breakfast time, were informed guest allergic to. Food also had hairs in it, which meant breakfast was not eaten other than tea and coffee and with wariness, some fruit (fruit choice limited to melons every day for five days!). Normally going to hotels and arriving very early, even if room not ready, they allow guest to take breakfast on day of arrival in exchange of breakfast another day. The staff refused. (As discovered the next day this was no loss other than the £$money paid for breakfast).Advice even if you do choose to stay here is do not waste money on breakfast without seeing the standard. Falsely accused of breaking glass and charged with about Baht150! When asked for confirmation of zero balance staff refused and started shouting!

Smelly room and unfriendly reception staff

Don’t stay here, the staff for the most part is not great. Very shouty and don’t seem to understand that guests may want something to prove that their balance at check-out is nil. Turned into a shouting match with staff asking guest for signature to confirm it was zero balance. Very very strange.

Terrible service, mouldy bathroom

Large room but musty smell that the air con couldn’t quite mask. Beautiful bathroom but mouldy. Fab housekeeping but terrible and aggressive daytime reception staff. They really made the stay unpleasant. The security and porters/drivers were the complete opposite and a joy to deal with. Horrendous breakfast at Siripanna. Hair in food and onions although restaurant was made aware that I was allergic to them. Watermelon usually fine and the best thing at breakfast, but one batch obviously had gone off. Range of food not suitable for anyone who doesn’t eat meat and definitely not for someone who isnt a fan of Chinese food. No Italian restaurant in site despite signage suggesting there was. The spa was amazing and while expensive worth a bit of pampering. 10% off on your first visit, 25% off subsequently making the price then more aligned with other luxury spas. The Thai massage with Lek and Oily especially fabulous. There are plenty of better options than Siripanna more conveniently located for the sights of Chiang Mai. (We found our stay at Away Thapae fabulous with really good service and felt valued there unlike Siripanna, albeit rooms are smaller). Given the service from front desk staff (very different to my stay here 10 years ago) is ugly, no plans to ever stay at Siripanna again.

Mould in bathroom made whole room smell terrible. They offered to change the room but we arrived back after midnight so not in position to move things into another room. It’s just ridiculous that such a room was even given to guests. On the plus side, room was large and if looked after better would be lovely. Pillow was lumpy but they did replace them. Front desk staff are horrendous. Unfriendly, aggressive. However housekeeping snd restaurant staff friendly. They advertise an Italians restaurant including eith signage at the hotel - this doesn’t actually exist ! Breakfast was absolutely terrible - inedible. Food had hair in it and just terrible quality. Watermelon and the orange juice were the only saving grace. Wouldn’t stay here again.
