The good location saves this place's rating, but it's no surprise; it's basically the oldest hotel in Chicago. I recommend it for 1 or 2 nights to explore the city. Unfortunately, it's not really suitable for a longer stay. And there are no ghosts ;-)

I loved my stay at the Congress Plaza Hotel. It was very clean throughout the hotel and my room was no different. I had a beautiful view of the lake and the Buckingham Fountain right out my window. I was within a few blocks of multiple train and bus stops to easily get throughout the city. The hotel is near Soldier Field, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, and countless other landmarks. I had everything I needed and the staff was very friendly. I have already recommended the hotel to my friends and family. Thanks for a 5 star hotel experience!

Second time staying here. Love the (slightly faded0 Guilded Age vibe. Location is outstanding, walk to most everywhere and two blocks from the CTA. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Chicago.

Beautiful older hotel in a great pedestrian area. Location to tours and sites was fantastic and we walked to everything we wanted to see and do. Only disappointing part is parking. There is a pay lot right next door but pricey and was only available in 24 hour time slots.
