It was a club quarters now River Hotel and it wasn’t even a hotel. No restaurant or food site. No beverages by bottled water and a coffee maker. No humans to help w bags or check in. It was by kiosk. Rooms didn’t have luggage holder or refrigerators. Basic room in a building.

Stayed at River Hotel and honestly expected a bit more. When I got there, instead of someone helping with check-in, they just pointed me to a tablet to do it myself. Not exactly the warm welcome I was hoping for. Also, the elevator was super noisy. I could hear it from my room all the time, which made it hard to relax or get a good night’s sleep. The place looks nice, but the service and comfort weren’t really there for me. Hope they improve that in the future.

This property exceeded our expectations at almost every turn. It is a well maintained luxury property with excellent, friendly staff. Our guest room was generously large and the public sitting area was clean and inviting. The check-in/out process was different than expected but there was plenty of staff to walk us through the process.

The location is within walking distance from Michigan Ave, right by the river. Beautiful view ( if your room is on the river side). The staff is incredible from greeting you, checking you in or if you have any questions or requests they are on top of everything. Very friendly and nice. Every time we have to spend the weekend in Chicago, that’s the only place we always stay.
