The third floor bedroom, bath and game room are surrounded by windows to enjoy 270 degree views from the Cape Arago lighthouse to Yoakam Point. Only 200 feet away, there is private access to Lighthouse Beach. This spectacular beach is bounded on both the north and south by 60 foot-tall sandstone cliffs that extend into the ocean. Because there is no public access to this ½ mile sandy beach between the rocky headlands from the north or south, it is the closest thing to a private beach in Oregon. This contemporary home was recently remodeled with high-end appliances, quartz countertops, custom-made furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows to capture the amazing ocean and lighthouse views, luxurious bathrooms with rain showers and invisible drains (2nd floor), custom kitchen cabinets, built-in refrigerator and freezer drawers, built-in microwave drawer, heated tile floors throughout, and gaming center. Open the windows and fall asleep at night to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach below your home. Relax on the cozy wind-protected deck while the brilliant sun sets behind the Cape Arago lighthouse on Chief Island. One master bedroom/ master bath and a guest bedroom and guest bathroom are on the second floor; a queen-size hide-a-bed in the living room can accommodate two additional guests. The third floor has a queen-size bed, bathroom, wet bar and refrigerator, double hide-a-bed, and X-Box with subscription games. Lighthouse Beach has numerous interesting geological features including steep sandstone cliffs, small caves, small waterfalls and rivulets to the ocean, monolithic rocks in the surf and stone promontories that project into the ocean to create tiny U-shaped private beaches during high tide. Walking along the sandy beach you are treated to unparalleled views of the Cape Arago lighthouse perched on Chief Island, the hole through the island and the steep cliffs that protect this unique stretch of beach. The kitchen has six refrigerator/freezer drawers, deep farm sink, microwave drawer, toaster, 6-burner gas range, dishwasher, electric tea kettle and rice cooker. Other amenities include a blender, coffee grinder, coffee maker, and all the utensils, flatware and silverware needed for cooking, barbecuing and serving ten people. The property is gated, with a paved driveway and parking, large back yard with lawn, mature trees and shrubbery and a large oceanfront yard to experience the beautiful Oregon coast. To take advantage of the Oregon coast, amenities include crab pots for catching your own Dungeness crabs, tools for harvesting mussels on the onshore rocks, shovels for harvesting razor clams, huge Empire clams and cockles, buckets, boots, an outdoor kettle for cooking your catch, gas barbecue, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, and beach toys for children. Within ten minutes of this amazing home (some are only 1 minute away) there are numerous natural areas and tourist attractions. These include Sunset Bay State Park (a popular, very flat and shallow beach with small waves), Shore Acres State Park (extensive international botanical species and formal gardens blooming throughout the year, unusual geological features that create explosive ocean spray up to 200 feet high, storm watching, secluded Simpson Beach, and Holiday Lights featuring 300,000 lights from Thanksgiving to New Year’s), Simpson Reef (the largest sea lion haul-out on the west coast of the United States with more than 5,000 Stellar sea lions, California sea lions, elephant seals and harbor seals), Cape Arago State Park viewpoint and hiking, the Shore Acres hiking loop, secret beaches, Bastendorff Beach and State Park (surfers, views, mussel harvesting), a portion of Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge encompassing over 1,800 islands and rocks along the Oregon coast, Charleston marina and harbor (restaurants, charter fishing, shopping, fishing gear and permits), U.S. Coast Guard view point (south jetty views and the geology of the Charleston harbor), the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (University of Oregon research facility) and the Charleston Marine Science Center. This three bedroom/three bath unit is the second and third floors of a three-story home; the first floor is also a separate vacation rental with one bedroom, one bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchenette with the same amazing views of the Cape Arago lighthouse, Gregory Point, Chief Island, Lighthouse Beach and Yoakam Point. The entire house can accommodate 14 guests. There is an "Alexa" smart device in the living room area of each floor. It cannot be activated remotely. Guests can unplug the device to assure privacy.

This house did not disappoint. We were in town for basketball, so we didn’t spend a ton of time at the house, but it was the perfect retreat after a long day. The views are absolutely spectacular. We loved having slow mornings around the table watching the waves and boats and surfers. Beach access was easy and we enjoyed exploring and checking out the tide pools. The house was very comfortable and well stocked so it was easy to family meals at night. 10/10 recommend.

This home is gorgeous. The inside was and cozy with everything we needed to cook all our meals. They provided lots of extra blankets for cuddling on the couch and the beds were very comfortable. The interior was impeccably clean. The yard has a gas fire table and a wood burning fire pit which were both nice. The real show stopper is the view. I could sit on the couch and look at that view for months, I had 1 small question so I reached out to the host who responded right away with a complete answer to my question. I would give this home 11/10!

We did have a few minor things come up during our stay but the host was quick to respond. Beautiful view of the ocean and sunsets
We’ve stayed in a lot of rental properties over the years and this was by far, the nicest! We rented the upper 3 bedroom apartment (you can rent the whole house or half, which I didn’t realize when we rented it). The water side of the property is all windows so there are incredible views of from the living room, kitchen and dining room, as well as the upstairs bedroom. The sunsets were spectacular, and there was a clear view of the nearby lighthouse. Everything about the property was immaculate, including all of the beautiful bathrooms. We were also happy with the location which was close to many wonderful state parks and not too close to the nearby towns which were a bit run down. We found good food options between 5-20 minutes away.

The best home I've stayed at along the Oregon Coast. I loved it so much, I proposed to my partner right in the back yard which overlooks the ocean. Magical place, especially at sunset. Thanks, Mike, for sharing your beautiful home.

Nice house but location was way out of the way. Just didnt realize how far when booking. Didnt realize it was not a whole house rental when booked. It was a constant worry to keep the noise down for guest below us. But the house was beautiful and loved the ocean view.

Gorgeous setting on the bluff overlooking Lighthouse Beach and Chief Island. Superb views from nearly every room. Beautiful interior true to photos. Easy to walk down stairs between neighboring houses to access beach. We stayed in the upper unit (second and third floors). The outdoor space (which is lovely, with a fire pit, chairs, and a separate outdoor seating area) is shared with the guests staying in the first floor unit. Driving to restaurants in Coos Bay takes about 20-30 minutes. We loved the excellent hiking trails nearby. Would have also loved to kayak but it appeared that the only kayak rental place in the area had gone out of business.Overall, a fabulous stay! Highly recommended!

Amazing place to stay at! Mike made sure to check in and make sure we made it to the rental and were having a good stay!
My husband and I did a "workation" here. He worked remotely sitting in front of the beautiful view from the house. I'm a professional oil painter, and I was able to walk the short distance behind the house with my painting gear to paint the awesome waves crashing on the rocks. It was perfect!

Our third visit to this picturesque locale. And the view from the panoramic windows in this beautiful home never disappoints no matter the weather. Mike, the owner is extremely responsive and great to work with. He kindly helped change my reservation when a personal loss shifted my plans. The home, with it's lovely bedrooms, completely updated bathrooms, stunning kitchen and dining room is the perfect spot for a great getaway. The beautiful yard, the easy beach access, the privacy, makes it an ideal spot to create life long memories.
