Not for Sleeping

I visit Copenhagen often for work and this was my first unpleasant experience. In room 420 the bed is a large 4 poster bed, but it had 2 single mattresses. These 2 mattresses each had a massive dip in the middle which made it impossible to sleep in the middle of the bed or on your front or side. I ended up sleeping sideways at the foot of the bed. The floors are made of wood which means you can hear the room above very clearly when they walk around. The room above me woke up before 6am so it was not my lucky day. The Sauna costs (I think) 299 extra for guests and was only available between 17:00-22:00, so I was unable to attend. Service is good and the fish restaurant and breakfast was nice. Just not the place to get a good nights sleep.

Great find. On my favorites.

The hotel is amazing, it is a treasure of object, furniture and fixtures from different periods and origins. It actually pushes you to ‘explore’ by fear of missing something. Amenities are top notch. Restaurant is great.

Gammelt og dyrt hotel

Hotellet virker gammelt og rimeligt slidt. Lobbyen er lille og mørk. Værelset var også gammelt og virkede slidt. Ingen varme på badeværelset og gulvet var iskoldt. På badeværelset blev gulvet meget vådt når man brugte bruseren og der var vand overalt. Det lugtede af kloak på badeværelset, som man havde forsøgt at camouflere med en room diffuser (som lugtede forfærdeligt af kanel). Vi spiste morgenmad på hotellet, som til prisen ikke var pengene værd. Desuden var morgenmadsbuffeten lille og blødkogte æg var hårdkogte (Ikke unormalt, men der blev kogt 15 ad gangen, selvom der kun var cirka 15 gæster. Så er det ikke så overraskende de ikke forholder sig blødkogte). Scrambled eggs var ikke hjemmelavet og med chilli (!?) Der var desuden ingen værtinde til at modtage folk i morgenmadsbuffen, hvilket virkede mærkeligt, da de netop skulle indsamle værelsesinformation. Det var en ret dyr overnatning (også sammenlignet med andre hoteller i København på tidspunktet) og det var desværre slet ikke de penge værd.
