We liked this unit but as with anywhere, there’s always a few things that catch your attention. Traffic was very heavy. Getting in and out of the facility was difficult. Plus, someone was in our designated parking spot the entire time, so we had to park out towards the gate.
The unit is on the ground floor, which we specifically needed. The pool is right outside the back door & the beach was just past that. Both very convenient I will say the pool was smaller than we expected and was often dirty with slime, hair & bugs. The hot tub was VERY dirty and not fully functional (the knob was broken off the timer). We saw two guys that came & “cleaned” the pool but only the older gentleman actually cleaned it. The other just poured a cup of something in it & left. Those were the days the pool was the worst.
The beach was very crowded & the rental chair company occupied the majority of the designated area. That was annoying, but we managed.
The porch furniture left a lot to be desired. There were 2 functional chairs, two broken ones and a very uncomfortable wooden bench. All of which were surrounded by ants when we got there & throughout the week. It does not appear the concrete porch is ever washed off so those guys clearly have made themselves at home. We were glad to have brought a few $10 chairs from Walmart with us to sit on.
The inside of the unit was sized well, but full of alot of unnecessary decor / furniture / fake plants that just took up space. In my opinion, the wicker living room furniture needs to be replaced. It is very dingy, outdated and all the pillows/cushions are stained. The pull out couch was gross when we opened it.
The bath linens were in short supply. Be prepared to do laundry every day.
Our biggest issue was the air conditioning (although we just dealt with it). The air filter light was on when we arrived and the unit would rarely pull down past 75 despite being set at 71 the entire time. At night it might get down to 73 but it didn’t stay there long. It was definitely noticeable & uncomfortable at times. I did mention it to the Manager upon departure so they could have it checked for the next guests (we left Friday even though checkout was Sat.)
Overall, we did enjoy our stay and we got some much needed beach relaxation. With a few updates/improvements, this unit could be 5 stars.
