This hotel is beautiful. We originally booked a standard room which was tiny and had the most uncomfortable bed. The toilet was so close to the door the toilet roll holder was jammed to your leg and we are fairly average sized people. We decided to upgrade for the 2nd night and got a King deluxe which was amazing with a favourite roll top bath and separate shower. Much more spacious and the bed was firm but much better than the previous bed. Unfortunately the A/C wasn't working and made a regular weird noise but that didn't spoil our stay.
The cream tea in The Garden Room was the best one we had in York. Delicious. Overall I would recommend but don't stay in a standard room as they are tiny!
