Northern Ireland Adventure

Hotel was great, quiet, good Dublin location, easy walking distance. The staff was really great, friendly, considerate, could not do enough for us during our stay. Allowed for a free early checkin which was fantastic after an all night flight. Definitely stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The suite was generous in size. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good. The decor was bland, could use some warmth and visual interest. The lighting in the bathroom and over the desk was horrible.

The Alex was very nice. Front desk and dining staff were very friendly and efficient. Close to many main attractions in Dublin, able to walk to a lot of venues and establishments. Simón at the front desk was extremely helpful and courteous.

Very Good Hotel

The Alex is really a very good hotel. The service at the front desk is great, the rooms are comfortable and the hotel is in a very central location of Dublin. The only reason I have marked this hotel down is the food and beverage service. We had multiple incidents with the restaurant, and they have some policies that don't make sense (i.e. a 10 euro surcharge for room service seems excessive). Again, the front desk tried to help with the incidents, but there is definitely a disconnect there. Fortunately, Dublin is full of wonderful places to eat, so this was just a small blemish on an overall enjoyable stay.
