The only good things about this hotel are the location, and the view if you get a room with a castle view. Our first room had a broken window that wouldn’t close, so we were moved to another room where nothing worked. The bathtub didn’t close, the sink didn’t drain, the partial glass shower door didn’t have a seal at the bottom so when you showered, the entire bathroom flooded, the mini-fridge didn’t work, the chargers by the bed didn’t work, the air-conditioning was lousy and the fan provided sounded like a tractor. It was a disaster. I was told there was nothing that could be done about it because they were sold out, which made me sob in the lobby. It was awful. As I stood there sobbing, a manager magically found me another room, with a view and where everything worked for our final night. It was much better, but the bathroom had bugs crawling in the floor in the morning. I would never stay here again.

Staff were awesome! Very welcoming. Only things I didn’t care for was the access to the deck and the shower. The bottom of the bathtub was about 6 inches higher than the bathroom floor and after a busy day walking all over the city - could have ended badly.

Location is perfect. Room was a bit warm and there is no a/c. They did however provide some small fans on request. The streets at night can get loud and since you need the windows open to cool the room it can be hard to ignore.

Perfect location, great stay

I would highly recommend this hotel! It’s central to everything you’d like to see so it’s a great hub to come back to. We had a wonderful breakfast, the room was comfortable and nice, and the pool was wonderful. Only thing - they are quite strict with their 2:30 check in so don’t anticipate getting in early. Not a complaint, just a mention.

The location is excellent—within walking distance to the Royal Mile and with easy access to restaurants and shops. However, there’s no designated area for private vehicles to stop and drop off luggage in front of the hotel (only for taxis). This wouldn’t be a problem if you’re arriving by taxi, bus, or train, but it’s inconvenient if you’re traveling with a rental car. Additionally, we had to carry our luggage up several flights of stairs before reaching the elevator, and there was no staff available to assist us—which I found quite disappointing.

Great location with amazing staff. We had a room with a balcony and view of the castle which was great and also challenging. With the balcony we could cool off the room along with the fan we got from the front desk. The hotel does not have air conditioning and it was quite muggy. While the location is great with needing the balcony door open it was incredibly noisy.

This is an old property with poor ventilation. There is no temperature regulation in room and door only opens 2 inches. It was very hot and stuffy all night. Streets are very active until 2 am so could not sleep

I liked the hotel location and its access to dining. I did not like: No air conditioning The open windows brought a nice breeze but the open Brought in a lot of street noise that made it difficult to sleep
