Gorgeous room, and the bus stop outside had direct links into the centre of Edinburgh. The bar downstairs was a bit loud during the evenings but was likely just due to the World Cup! Amazing place to stay.

The rooms were clean. The staff were helpful apart from one who was grumpy. Disappointed thought breakfast was included or atleast available, only Saturday Sunday. The bar was ok a but found in the evenings. The covered area was cold had ceiling heaters but had ti keep switching on as they re on a short timer. I had food one night the service and food was good. Bar staff were good and helpful.

The accommodation is ok and the room looks nice but then you lay on the bed you can feed very spring etc and makes for not a good sleep. The bathroom looks ok until you need to wash in that basin aka bird bath as it's that small, also quite a lot of mould on the ceiling and window curtains. I paid £100 for the night and would expect body wash/shampoo to be included but it was not to be. Very poor and wouldn't return.

Nice hotel, small but clean room. No bath just shower which we didn’t mind but only had soap so if staying longer would need to bring own toiletries. Staff are nice & friendly and great customer service. Nice pub down stairs with live music at weekend & TV for sports. Close to public transport (bus & train). Free Wi-Fi.

4/10 Poor

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years, but it has gone downhill badly. There’s clearly been no upkeep or care put into the place. On my recent stay, one of the two rooms was tiny, not properly cleaned, the mattress was in poor condition, and the shower only ran cold. Really disappointing considering how good it used to be.

2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
The bed was absolutely awful! Collapsed mattress and a collapsed bed base where two pieces of wood had been loosely thrown underneath for a makeshift support! It was SO uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean and refurbished but not even any soap provided. We had to run across to the Lidl supermarket for shower gel. Water was lukewarm and shower head dreadful. Not a very pleasant experience at all, and definitely not worth the £140 room only charge!

The mattress on the bed was terrible for me (felt like a really old sprung mattress, with little support). No breakfast on weekdays, which is a pain. Otherwise the room and bathroom were fine. Didn't use the pub downstairs but looked fine.
