"Hotel is OK. "
In general terms the hotel is okay. I stay there 1 week in 4 to conduct business. I could use a meeting room almost daily. There are two meeting rooms available but unfortunately they are both is such poor condition they would be an embarrassment to my business. The rooms have a damp and moldy air about them, the chairs are in poor and worn condition and the rooms are doubling as store rooms stacked with cartons etc. The white board is battered and dented. For me, the rooms are not usable. At the close of a day I bring clients to the hotel for drinks. The service in the bar area, whilst pleasant enough is very slow. Slow enough to be commented on. WiFi is central to my business operation, For a repeat guest I would suggest that I am granted free 24 hour Wifi access. I must say that the Novotel Lami Bay has reached a point that for my next scheduled trip late March, I am considering trying another hotel.

"It is what it is."
The Tanoa is a pretty good 4 star property, but no more than that. Staff are friendly and helpful, but inclined to take short cuts (eg yes sir, the XXX bank in Nadi is open on Saturday morning, rather than actually confirm this - we went to Nadi, it wasn't open). Poolside is cool but the cloth covers on the poolside lounges are in shreds! It would cost so little to have this fixed! Sunday mornings the entire public area is taken over by a local evangelical church, who use the well appointed conference centre for a two hour plus service. Well, ok, but the noisy, younger children of the congregation run all over the place like it was playschool. This is more than distracting when trying to focus on a murder mystery between dips. I tried the gym and it was ok but somewhat under-equipped, and other equipment out of order. Staff at the pool-bar need customer service training - as in, they are actually there to serve the paying customers, not to watch Fiji in the the Wellington Rugby Sevens, and the cocktail prices would put Raffles to shame, like who are they kidding!
