Fantastic location and incredible service

Hotel Alessandra is a gem in downtown Florence, just blocks from the Ponte Vecchio. It's nothing like an American chain hotel, but that's part of the charm. Lots of stairs (like everywhere in Italy) - 2 flights to the main entrance. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely and varied, rooms were large and comfortable. Great water pressure and decent sized shower. Be sure to have a drink on the terrace overlooking the river. Would absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful property! Andrea the owner, will move heaven and earth to make your stay great! Only drawback is you have a flight of stairs to the elevator. Most of the buildings are 500 years old. Only a problem when carrying luggage. The staff is great! Enjoy your stay… We highly recommend them!

Wonderful location, a perfect place for my family of 4. We had a rental car and left it parked in a nearby garage, Garage Santa Trinity and paid the daily rate. I highly recommend and also would happily come back!

This particular location shared my FAVORITE QUALITY of spending time in a "Neighborhood". The Quality of the residence, and AS Importantly, or MORE... the Staff, front of house, management, finances, info, booking..even Fabulous breakfast chef and attendents, availability for ANY help, amenities, data for seeking Attractions for art or Food.. Is the BEST...I have ever experienced in 50 years of travel. Florence is a relatively easy walking destination for visitors..even without my Art/culture/food experience... I simply Cannot say How WONDERFUL..all the Staff at this Location...SOooo convenient, have been. I was even able to speak to one Manager..to Express my thanks for such a wonderful experience.. DO...yourself a favor..and Stay at "Hotel Allessandra" if you want to experience the Best of Florence. It is mere blocks from The Ponte Vecchio.. The Uffizi Gallery...and The Duomo.... to see, again, some of my favorite artist's work.. Bernini.. Michealangelo... Botticelli.."Hotel"..Home for the week..was only blocks away.. Even as tired as I was (at 63).. to be able to walk from my room mere steps to get some caffiene,, juice..eat what I wished from their bountiful offerings.. whether eggs and ham..or 5 different Italian pastry/pie creations was such neccesary sustinence for the next days' efforts. Andreas.. Monte..made sure I was up, . I simply cannot expresswonder..the appreciation for the personal warmth of this destination's personnel... and the "Location-location-location

The staff here were simply FANTASTIC! I cant say enough wonderful things about them. PLEASE NOTE: there are 2 flights of stairs to get to the lobby and another if you are on the 3rd floor. Getting luggage situated was a struggle. If you are fit and travel light its fine. We had 4 suitcases so less fine. It's definitely older (there is an actual door key) and no frills. It was clean and we had no complaints except the lack of elevator. It was centrally located and we walked everywhere
