• Mexican: Original Mexican Cafe - 2 mins
▶ Neighborhood Description:
Quiet East End neighborhood with oak-lined streets and Victorian-era historic homes — yet only 4 blocks to the beach, 5mins to the Strand, UT Medical Center and cruise port. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway, cruise vacation, or family trip, this peaceful yet central neighborhood offers the best of both worlds: quiet, residential comfort with easy access to Galveston’s beaches, dining, nightlife, and attractions.
▶ Parking:
Free street parking directly in front of the house (no driveway parking available). Usually plenty of street spaces available, but may be limited during special events. City does not permit RVs, boats, trailers, or oversized vehicles to park on the street.
▶ Shared Space & Sound:
The main house and cottage are separate private accommodations with a shared back porch. Because these are historic homes, some sound may carry between spaces, and guests may occasionally hear normal activity from the other accommodation. Please be mindful of noise and considerate of guests staying in the other home, especially during quiet hours of 10 PM–8 AM.
▶ Property Layout & Shared Spaces/Amenities:
You'll have the entire bungalow to yourself. The back porch deck with the BBQ and Adirondack chairs is a shared outdoor space that may also be used by guests who may be staying in the separate Guest Cottage (Shamrock Cottage). The Cottage is a completely separate unit with its own private entrance. Two bicycles are also available for shared guest use between the two homes, so availability may vary depending on occupancy. Each property also has one beach wagon and two beach chairs for guest use.
▶ Minimum Age to Book:
We require the booking guest to be at least 21 years old and actually be staying at the property each night of the reservation.
▶ Historic Home:
This is a lovingly restored circa 1903 property—expect a blend of old-world character and modern updates.
▶ Beach Access:
The home is a short drive (or a 4 block walk) to the Seawall and Galveston’s beaches.
▶ Climate:
Galveston is humid and coastal—central air conditioning and ceiling fans are provided for your comfort.
▶ Coastal Environment
As with any coastal location, it is not uncommon for insects to occasionally find their way indoors; especially after heavy rain or weather changes. We perform regular inspections and pest control but you may occasionally spot an insect during your stay.
