Outstanding Service

We stayed two nights for an anniversary trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host was very friendly and the food was exceptional. The location is great and our accommodations for spacious and comfortable

Nice stay, but place needs some upkeep.

Nice place! Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, but the pastries we were offered tasted stale. I didn’t realize we were not in the main house. It would have been nice to have that clearer in the details. Our room was nice, but some things were overlooked - battery was out in the safe and kept beeping until i just took them out, air freshener plug in was out (place had a damp smell and really needed the freshener), no bottle opener for drinks in the fridge. Nice to have free snacks and drinks in the fridge. Overall very good, but for the price, i thought it would be nicer.

Great place with lots of history. Mansion was built in the 1800s and was recently restored. We stayed in one of the newer apartments built in the 1950s, very roomy one bedroom with a modern bathroom and kitchenette.

Beautiful historic place. Bathroom redone and very clean. We stayed in a suite with kitchen. They provided transportation to cruise terminal and car parking for an extra fee. But well worth it! Rosie and Michael were very pleasant. Bar opens at 5 for guests. My husband loved his German meal. The only negative was a smoke smell in the living area of our room. Smoking is not permitted, but the previous guest did not adhere to the rules. It is not the host’s fault because they did everything they could, including washing the draperies and all the bedding. This place is a real gem and we will definitely be back!! Highly recommend.

Hidden treasure

I cannot say enough praise for The George Manor! From the staff to building, from the mural on the wall to the tea served at High Tea Time, everything had a story! The owner was so sweet and took the time to answer every question, the chef was amazing and had so much richness to share of his life, the property and the city itself, the bed gave me the greatest night sleep of my entire life, and the breakfast and tea time were so amazingly authentic it took me back to my time in the UK eating full English breakfasts every week! We will never stay in an overpriced hotel again!

The staff were so attentive and provided wonderful customer service. We stayed here during our honeymoon trip and they gave us chocolate covered strawberries and a rose at our breakfast table. The breakfast was included and was delicious. Thank you!

Outstanding place. The staff and service so friendly, warm, hospitable, and professional. Michael and Rosie a great team. Graham and Valerie awesome. I enjoy History and Galveston oozes it. And the George Manor appreciates it as well. A few hints of Civil War on the property. The food was outstanding b/c I gained 10lbs!... We hope to be back for afternoon tea.
