The Explorer Hotel Yellowknife
The beds, food, staff and shuttle were excellent! The gym had some negative reviews but it has everything needed and was bigger than most hotel gyms. The bathroom in my room needed some maintenance (rocking toilet, missing caulking), but was clean at least.

I had gone out for the night and when I came back the next night, I was rudely interrupted while I was in the shower and got kicked out and the authorities were called when I did nothing wrong at all.
