The place overall was nice. They just got bought by a new agency and are working on updates. The staff was awesome and helpful, very kind. The room did need some updates from age but nothing that was unbearable. The elevators was quick, the view was beautiful, the refrigerator was ice cold, new dishwasher, new coffee pot, nice roomy balcony, clean rooms. The only things that was challenging was the underground parking garage is a tight fit for a large SUV and the walk down to town was not bad, but coming back was a little rough. It does have the option to wait and ride the trolly back up the hill, but sometimes that's tough when you are tired and ready to get back. Also, if you get the 3 bedroom 3 bath unit, the heating is a little messed up. It will be hot upstairs and in the master, but the room with two beds it gets freezing cold in there at night. We even put a box fan in the hall area to try and pull some heat in there and it was still cold. But I would definitely stay here again, nothing was unbearable and overall its a great place with friendly people!

Our stay started with a very uncomfortable check-in experience. We were approached by a man who claimed to be a concierge but clearly was not. He told us the hotel had been taken over by a “new company” and that because we booked through Expedia, we missed a special promotion. After a long sales pitch and a staged attempt to “add” offers to our reservation, he claimed we were approved for a $100 gift card and a free future stay—but only if we attended a 90-minute presentation. Despite being told the presentation was optional, it was clearly a timeshare pitch. We declined. The stay itself was acceptable until the third night, when we discovered cockroaches in the kitchenette. After stepping on a large one, several more scattered under the cabinets when the lights were turned on. Shortly after that, all elevators stopped working, forcing us to walk multiple flights of stairs from the lowest level of the parking garage to our fourth-floor room. When we complained, we were told no refund would be given for the roaches or the broken elevators. We were also told we would be charged an additional $150 for not attending the “optional” presentation. The front desk stated she could issue a partial refund but refused to do so, and incorrectly claimed the hotel was clearly advertised as a timeshare, which it was not. I would not stay here again.

I'll start off with the good. The location was great. We were walking distance to a lot of great activities. Now, the bad.... everything esle!! When i booked the room, i was under the impression that there would be a jacuzzi tub like pictured. The room looked much bigger in the photos. The kitchen was very tiny and didn't have an oven.the balcony faced a lot of power lines and another hotel. My dishwasher was leaking water all over the floor which i didn't even use. The ice machine is a restaurant style with no scoop. So guest are contaminating the ice when they use whatever they use to scoop out the ice. No housekeeping, they expect you to take your own trash out. The whole place is outdated and in need of renovations. I paid over $550 for 5 nights. I wish i would have stayed elsewhere. I will not recommend this place!!!

Our experience at this hotel was awful from the moment we walked in. The room was not clean, the sheets were stained, and there were no curtains on the windows. There was nowhere to hang coats, the trash can was broken, and even the hallways and elevators were filthy. The rooms are definitely not soundproof. We could hear people whispering through the connecting door, and we could even see shadows of people walking in the other room through the gap. On top of that, every time the neighbors cooked, the smell filled our room as if they were cooking right next to us. We reserved a king-size bed studio, but they put us in a handicapped accessible studio instead. When we complained, they promised an “upgrade” to a room with a Jacuzzi and dresser. After packing everything again and moving, the “new” room was identical to the one we had. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I will never stay at this place again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Pros:Front desk staff was super friendly. We stayed in the 1 bedroom condo and it was the perfect size for us. Cons: The shower wasn’t cleaned when we got there. Hair and soap scum all in it. The indoor pool was absolutely disgusting. We walked in and there was chunks of hair all in the pool. Looks like the filter wasn’t working or the pool hadn’t been cleaned in a while. We didn’t chance it.

The room overall was clean but there were a few places that could stand a cleaning/dusting. We loved our room and the location is perfect for us as we can walk everywhere and not have to fight the traffic or pay for parking. The fully equipped kitchen is a huge bonus for us. Saves some money on eating out. I highly recommend staying at Gatlinburg Town Square.
